Tornado season is approaching again

While it has been some time since we have had any serious tornadic activity in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area (praise be to God!) it is always a possibility. I used to go out to be a local spotter for our amateur radio SkyWarn nets. There are plenty of volunteers for this now so I leave it to others while I just listen along on the 2 meter ham radio repeaters, and give local weather observations. The chase is for the more adventurous.

Here is a video of a tornado that is well defined. Notice all the highway traffic moving along as if this is a normal occurance. Also notice that this particilar tornado seems to be stationary. Weird!

The 2007 Elie, Manitoba F5 tornado (a civilized canuck tornado, it seems to stay in one place instead of travlling, dropping down to tear hell out of one location, then go away!)
