The bird feeder analogy

This was emailed to me. I am passing it along to you.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with birdseed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop! It was everywhere, on the patio tile, the chairs, the table...everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. The other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let's see.....

Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.

Then the illegals came by the tens and hundreds of thousands, millions. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because half the class doesn't speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to 'press one' to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than 'Old Glory' are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. When asked why they breed like cockroaches, the reply is that it is a cultural thing.

Just my opinion but, maybe its time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

History Lesson, a little humor to brighten your day!

This was received in email and I am passing it along to you...

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals

2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery.

That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men or wussies. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth; the elephant.

Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

A few modern liberals like Mexican light beer (with lime added), but most prefer a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc,with passion fruit and kiwi aromas which are marked by grassy notes, then rounded out on the midpalate by peach flavors Crisp and refreshing, with a hint of chalky minerality on the finish; or Perrier bottled water. They eat raw fish but dislike beef. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.

Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, Ivy League professors, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated-hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink Sam Adams, Harpoon IPA or Yuengling Lager. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively

Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history: It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to piss them off.

Cable service, digital telephones, and power outages

We just had a severe thunderstorm roll through the county. First we lost the cable television signal and cable modem, then the power went out. I do not have digital phone service with Comcast and am glad of it now. The phone would have been out with the cable. I picked up my wireline phone and called my wife at her work place to see if the power was out across the river. She said it waa back on over there and shortly our power came back too.

My point... dont pile your eggs in one basket.

Power outages do NOT affect the phone company and phone lines in their local areas.. The phone company has its own generators and supplies the talk voltage out on the cable pairs.

I am keeping my wireline telephone (and my cell phone). Another point... my phone line has DSL and that stayed on too. I had a small 150 watt power inverter and battery on the broadband modems (cable and dsl). DSL never lost signal. The cable modem did. Hmmm.....

If the cable television goes out the digital telephone goes with it

To COMCAST: Concerning phone service, NO THANK YOU!

I do think that your broadband ROCKS when the power is on. DSL may be slower but it stayed on while the cable modem lost signal. I had my laptop online and switched from the cable modem to the dsl. Ahhh... I am a broadband addict. I do need to get a UPS for each of my desktop machines and my router though. My little homemade system with the car battery and the power inverter doesnt have the capacity for the desk top machines.

[update: The power went off again later in the night, well after midnight. I was already in bed and only noticed it because the fan in my bedroon stopped for a while. I didnt bother to get up an reboot the computers until this morning. Some of them will actually recover on their own, but a few are passworded locally so I have to actually be at the keyboard to bring them back online. My FTP server (currently on my dsl line) rebooted and came back up just fine.]

I Am An American

There have only been two days in my life when I felt sick in the pit of my stomach for America. September 11, 2001 and today, May 17th, 2007.

• Today I learned that I have been betrayed by my President, my Senate, and my Political party.

• Today I learned that the citizenship I have treasured so much has been reduced in value to nothing by some.

• Today I learned that to some, I have no voice.

• Today I learned a hard truth. To some, the American dream is only the dream of the immigrant and not the right of the home grown citizen.

• Today I learned that my country is not solid as stone but rather it is transient like a ripple on a lake.

• Today I learned that my home is no longer my home. My people are no longer my people. My leaders are no longer my leaders.

• Today I learned that my president has a price. My senate has a price My political party has a price.

• Today I learned something else too; I learned that they can’t break me.

Because I am an American. I can not be bought. I can not be sold. There is no price on my citizenship. There is no price on my love of country. There is no price on my loyalty to America and her ideas. While others whom I should be able to trust conspire against me, I sit and contemplate. I sit and remember. I sit and cry.

And I make a firm resolution. I am going outside to raise my flag and shine a light. Tonight I am going to rest, and break bread with my family. I will watch a silly movie to restore my soul. I will take a bubble bath and burn a candle.

And then I will sleep. And when I wake up, I will face a new day. I will make the phones in Washington buzz. I will fill their fax machines. I will overburden their emails. I will write letters. I will call talk shows. I will plan rallies. I will call friends. And I will not stand down.

Because I am an American.

I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. I am a patriot, truth seeker, light shiner, an activist. I am a peaceful but fierce protector of my homeland. I am an American. And just when those that conspire relax, when they are sure that they have exhausted our resources, our energy, our enthusiasm and our spirit, I will bounce back. I will learn relentlessly. I will speak extensively. I will rally exhaustively, I will protest, I will scream, I will stomp my feet.

And then I will vote.

Because I am an American.

That can not be given by anyone.

• It is not theirs to give.

It can not be taken by anyone.

• It is not theirs to take.

• It can not be awarded.

• It can not be denied.

I will not stand down. I will not sit quiet. I will not surrender.

Global Warming?

With the 2008 election approaching, we have to keep this topic in mind. Algore is said to be mulling another run for the White House. There are other socialists that give lip service to the global warming movement too.

This is a topic to watch when candidates come calling for votes. Any candidate that says we are at fault for global warming should be treated as a dangerous pschopath and is to be avoided. If you really must contact any member of this psychiatrically challenged crowd, please ask them to turn down the sun's thermostat just a little to let things cool off. What? You didn't know it was the sun that causes global warming? Temperatures are up on Mars too. If that continues, hopes of a Mars colony will have to be put off. The socialists are using the environment and global warming as their launch platform for more attacks on your freedom and civil rights. Plus they want the rest of your income and will dole it back to you as they see fit. They are blending Orwell and Huxley into their dream of a socialist utopia.

For a better understanding of the direction the socialists are incrimentally taking us, go to the public library and check out "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley.

Best of all...just get the books and read them for yourself. The socialists are using global warming and other touchy feelies to cement their positions with the ignorant masses. This is where the Clintons tried to take us.

Whatever happened to...

...Ramsey Clark??? [I bet you were thinking I would say Randolf Scott?]

The last I heard of him was his much ballyhooed trip to Iraq to be the savior and expert legal defense attourney for Saddam Hussein. Did they stand him back-to-back with Saddam and place the noose over both of their necks together?

Ramsey seems to have crawled down a hole and pulled it in after himself.

The State of the Union: An Ordinary Citizen Responds

As required by the U.S. Constitution, President Bush delivered the "State of the Union" speech in January. The Bush speech was annunciated in Texan--that is, pidgin English with a drawl.

After the president has spoken, the Democrats responded, in both English and Spanish.

All of the speeches were loaded with outrageous hyperbole and exaggerations, if not downright lies. The real problems facing the nation were grossly underestimated or ignored. Achievements were vastly overstated and misrepresented.

In other words, the State of the Union focused on what politicians wanted Americans to think, rather than the actual state of the union.

For a change, our politicians need to hear the State of the Union from the perspective of an ordinary American citizen.

This citizen proposes the following response:

Mr. President, members of Congress:

The state of this union is: In grave peril and in danger of collapse!

Due to inappropriate actions and or inaction on the part of those entrusted with managing this great nation--that would be YOU, ladies and gentlemen--the United States of America is on the brink of declining into a third-world cesspool.

It is imperative that our government recognize the fact that we the people are FED UP with the attempt to undermine American sovereignty, homeland security, and culture.

In short, we the people are:

FED UP with plans to merge the United States into a North American alliance with Canada and Mexico. Such a plan would destroy American sovereignty and is totally unacceptable.

FED UP with the refusal of the federal government to secure our borders at time of war.

FED UP when armed Mexicans illegally cross our borders and assault Americans, yet our government takes no action, and refuses to even protest.

FED UP when Americans defending the U.S. from drug smuggling illegal aliens are sent to federal prison, while invading criminals are to be forgiven via amnesty for violating our borders and laws.

FED UP with the fact that upwards of 30 million illegal aliens are currently in America, and cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars every year.

FED UP with a president who orders thousands of young Americans into harm's way thousands of miles from home, but who refuses to secure America.

FED UP with politicians who refuse to enforce immigration laws and who claim it is "impossible" to deport criminals here illegally.

FED UP with illegal aliens who can not and/or will not speak English.

FED UP with taxpayer dollars being wasted to print documents in foreign languages.

FED UP with illegal aliens who dump their medical bills on the backs of U.S. taxpayers, but who send $30-40 billion a year back to Mexico each year.

FED UP with the fact that providing free medical services to illegal aliens drives hospitals out of business, making those facilities unavailable to American citizens for whom the medical centers were intended.

FED UP with our schools being invaded by non-English speaking children who impede the learning process of students who genuinely belong here.

FED UP with the fact that federal, state, and local penal systems are overrun by illegal aliens, again costing taxpayers billions each year.

FED UP with the fact that, on average, illegal aliens kill 12 Americans every day.

FED UP with the fact that the overwhelming majority of felony crimes being investigated in Los Angeles have been committed by illegals from Mexico.

FED UP with politicians who refuse to round up and deport millions of illegal aliens who are destroying American culture and language.

FED UP with politicians who pamper illegal aliens with driver's licenses and free public services, which encourage even more invaders to come to America.

FED UP with the attempted Mexicanization of America. Mexico is a third- world slum, and we are FED UP with those who want America to be like Mexico!

Finally, Mr. President and members of the U.S. Congress, we the people are FED UP with those who consistently work on behalf of illegal aliens and the state of Mexico, and against the interests of the American people!

Please do not underestimate the dissatisfaction and rage swelling in the hearts of patriotic Americans on this vital issue.

The state of this union is untenable and must not continue as is!

We the people DEMAND our great country back!
