psssst - Iran and a sea launched weapon
Recently I received a newsletter that contained info about Iran making missile launches from ships and testing aerial bursts. EMP was the general consensus of what they intend. We know that Iran is busily using its centrifuges to build a stock of weapons grade uranium for bombs (and missiles).
My own analysis is that they do not have an accurate guidance system (or any guidance system for that matter) and they are trying to see what happens under differing sea conditions with the scud unguided variants that are in their arsenal.
If they attempt a launch against a US target, it will be a shallow water launch (for a steadier deck), not deep water. This means that it will be from near shore coastal waters of the US. Most likely the missile ship will be a container ship or maybe a smaller steamer ship with a few top deck containers. I think that the containers will carry the missiles and launcher. Either DC or New York City are likely targets. Or both!
NYC to behead the US economy.
DC to behead the government of the US.
Hmmm... We could make Philly into the national capital afterwards, while glowing reports of the condition of DC come in. (not funny dammit).

McCain backs off his no-new-tax pledge
By CHARLES BABINGTON AP Writer
WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate John McCain drew a sharp rebuke Monday from conservatives after he signaled an openness to a higher payroll tax for Social Security, contrary to previous vows not to raise taxes of any kind.
Speaking with reporters on his campaign bus on July 9, he cited a need to shore up Social Security, saying: "I cannot tell you what I would do, except to put everything on the table."
He went a step farther Sunday with his reponse on a nationally televised talk show to a question about payroll tax increases.
"There is nothing that's off the table. I have my positions, and I'll articulate them. But nothing's off the table," McCain said. "I don't want tax increases. But that doesn't mean that anything is off the table."
Indeed, McCain frequently has promised not to raise taxes.
At a July 7 town-hall meeting in Denver, he said voters faced a stark choice between him and Democrat Barack Obama.
"Sen. Obama will raise your taxes," McCain said. "I won't." [LIAR!]

His supporters try to say that there are glaring differences between McCain and Obamessiah. One of those differences just went "POOF", up in smoke.

Pssst (quietly - Lieberman Alert)
Just between you, me, and the fence post....
McCain is still acting very coy about VP choices, but he has been a maverick all along.
He will be a maverick in this too.
I will not be surprized if he announces his choice is Joe Lieberman. Joe has said he is not in the running but I think this is what McCain will do to pull the Clinton delegates into his camp including that excommunicated Wisconsin Hillary delegate.
The McCain campaign planning and strategy is to pull enough disaffected Hillary supporters and win without a conservative base.
He really has no intention of apologizing to conservatives. He doesn't need us.
Conservatives can cave and join the McCainiacs or to hell with us.

Choosing Lieberman will finalize the switch from GOP to New Deal RND.
