Election 2008 - The Border Fence - Who is FOR and AGAINST border security
This should be an important issue this election year 2008... who is for securing our borders and who is against. No surprize, the Democrats are open/no borders traitors with few exceptions (and some of these exceptions will really floor you).
In 2007, the House of Representatives voted to repeal and defund the border fence on nearly a straight party-line vote, Democrats FOR defunding, Republicans AGAINST. The amendment to defund and repeal was tucked into the appropriations legislation to conceal it.
I blogged this "The Vote against border security - The fence defunded" in December of 2007.
A YEA vote is a vote to pass the legislation defunding the fence (AGAINST Border Security).
A NAY vote is a vote against the legislation which defunds the fence (FOR Border Security).

County tax shift...
The last shift of Kent County operating taxes (collected 6 months EARLY, now all collected in the summer bill) happened in 2007. Starting with 2008 there will not be any increase in your tax bill due to the shift of the County Operating Tax (...the early collection, because it is all collected early now). There is some legislation in the works to shift the jail and senior taxes (collect them EARLY too) from the weinter to the summer bill.

Do you remember when the winter and summer bills were approximately equal and were not so big. Now the summer bill is double of what the winter tax is and will be larger still if they are allowed to collect more of the winter taxes SIX MONTHS EARLY in the summer bill. Somehow, the winter bill has not shrunk that much even with the early collection of the country tax in the summer. We are seeing the incrimental tax creep upward, truly a death by a thousand cuts.
Lets identify the legislators involved in this pushing this horse manure and convince them that it will be their last legislative post if they push more early tax collections
Who was involved in the previous "midnight vote" opening the gates for the tax shift over the previous three years? Doug Hart (Mi-73) was my Representative in September 2004 when they grew a big brass pair and passed the county tax increase/shift. Tom Pearce (Mi-73) is my rep now because Hart was a coward and decided not to run again. I leafleted Hart's neighborhood about the tax increase/shift and threatened to do the same for Sikkema and a few others that participated in this crap. A staffer from Senator Sikkemas office tried to talk me down... State Rep. Sak (D) called me personally to talk, right from the chamber floor... to change MY mind, not to have me change theirs! It did not work!

When you look at the numbers of republicnas and Democrats, remember this was a republican controlled legislature and the numbers look very similar to the numbers of Republican and Democrats that passed amnesty (S.2611) in the US Senate. Do you wonder where the US Senate RINOs come from? I bet this is mirrored all over the country.
Lots of very familiar names, some up for re-election, some of whom have moved to from house to senate and others to other elected positions...

There seems to be a complete disconnect between Senators in DC and the working citizens of the USA. This is nothing new though because the three remaining presidential candidates, the Three Stooges (Moebama, HilLarry, and CurleyCain), are all supreme panderers to the illegal alien component of all the immigrants that they want to flood the country with. The dearest wish of all these politicians is to kick all current workers out of their jobs and replace them with no-wage/low wage workers/slaves. Sounds a bit facetious but it is true nonetheless. They will deny it with words but will vote for it in committee and on the senate floor.

Rosemary Jenks (our Vice President, Government Relations) just called me after finishing reading the Iraq supplemental spending bill as it came out of committee. It would:
Grant a three-year work visa followed by a permanent greencard to all illegal aliens who have been working as shepherds, goat herders and dairy herders.
Grant a five-year work visa to the estimated 1.3 million illegal aliens working in other agricultural jobs -- plus all of their families. There is no instruction on what happens after the five years.
Grant a tripling of the maximum number of H-2B visas for lower skill, non-agricultural seasonal workers.
Grant industries an extra 218,000 additional permanent green cards for skilled foreign workers.
Friends, perhaps you are thinking what I'm thinking: Don't these Senators know that we are in an economic recession, or close to it? Don't they know that unemployment rates have been going up and that industries across the country are shedding both skilled and unskilled jobs?
If ever you doubted that U.S. Senators live lives disconnected from ordinary Americans, you could see it Thursday as 17 of them fell all over themselves to drastically increase the number of foreign workers allowed to hold U.S. jobs!
RIDICULOUS CLAIMS ABOUT RUNNING OUT OF FOOD WITHOUT AN AMNESTY
Senators Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.), Larry Craig (R-Idaho) and Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) led the way to protect our economy from having to figure out ways to hire some of the 14 million-plus American workers who are trying to find a job but can't.
Especially interesting is their claim that we will fail to harvest crops and feed the world this year without an amnesty for illegal aliens. They made the same claim in each of the last four years. Each time that we beat back the amnesty, the harvests still happened! How many times does Feinstein have to cry wolf (or rotting crops) before people stop paying attention?
Of course, the outlaw businesses that scream for illegal aliens do have more to fear this year because various enforcement policies (federal, state and local) are beginning to drive more and more illegal aliens home.
What we have to constantly remind everybody, though, is that each of these outlaw growers at any time can come clean, go straight and become a legal, patriotic member of the business community by importing any needed foreign ag workers through the H-2A temporary worker program. There is no limit on how many they can import as long as they pay them decently and ensure that they go home.
The North Carolina Growers Association has used the H-2A visa program for years and opposes all efforts at amnesty for illegal alien ag workers. If the program works fine for North Carolina farmers, why do farmers in other part of the country insist that only illegal aliens will fit the bill?
THE VERY LOW CRITERIA FOR QUALIFYING FOR AN AG AMNESTY
Rosemary says you don't have to have spent much time in the fields to qualify for Feinstein and Craig's amnesty.
You only have to meet ONE of the following three criteria to get the amnesty:
Earned $7,000 working in agriculture during the 2004-2007 period.
Or worked 863 hours in agriculture during the 2004-2007 period.
Or worked at least a little bit in agriculture on 150 different days during the 2004-2007 period.
That amounts to an average of $1,750 per year ...
... or 216 hours per year (the equivalent of 4 hours per week) ...
... or parts of 37 days per year.
DO THEY THINK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE STUPID AND THAT WE COULD POSSIBLY ACCEPT THAT ILLEGAL ALIENS WORKING THAT LITTLE IN AGRICULTURE ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE SURVIVAL OF AGRI-BUSINESS IN AMERICA!!!!!!
The answer is that they really hope we are that stupid or just incredibly unfocused. All the right-wing business lobbyists, leftist organizations, religious groups and news media who tried to force the amnesty last year are cheering this thing on.
We beat them last year because the American people FOCUSED for a few weeks and told the U.S. Senators who is their boss.
Will you please do everything you can to enlist a small army in your community to fight this?

Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) that gives amnesty to illegal-alien agricultural workers. The copy of the amendment obtained by NumbersUSA indicates a maximum of 1.35 million illegal aliens, plus their families, could obtain "emergency agricultural worker status" for a five-year period. However, the amendment also provides for an adjustment of status, which paves the way for permanent legalization.

Groups lobbying for changes in the nation’s immigration laws, including a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, have dubbed themselves the “Alliance for Immigration Reform 2007.” [aka "The Amnesty AXIS", "The AXIS of Evil", or just "The AXIS"]
The organizations, which announced their new name Thursday in a conference call with reporters, include the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic civil rights group; the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops; the Service Employees International Union; the National Immigration Forum; and the Manhattan Institute, a conservative think tank based in New York.
“This is the year to get this done,” said Tamar Jacoby, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. “Everybody, no matter who they are, is sick of the illegality and the porous borders. Businesses are tired of lying to the government and having to break the law just to get the work done. Latinos want to see their friends and family able to work with dignity. And soccer moms and dads want to see Congress solve something.”
Bruce Josten, executive vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said he expected President Bush to address immigration in his State of the Union speech Tuesday.
“I have absolutley no doubt that he will raise this issue and he will press and stay on the message he has been on since a candidate for this office for a comprehensive solution to immigration,” Josten said.
White House spokesman Tony Snow confirmed the topic.
The speech “will address major issues, including the war on terror, energy, health care, immigration, and education,” he told reporters Thursday.

The AXIS: Despite the backing of the US Chamber of Commerce, the Bishops, Arch Bishops, and Cardinals of the American Catholic Church, Big Union (AFL-CIO represented by SEI), a putatively conservative think tank (Manhattan Institute), El Presidente Bush, the DNC including all but a bare handfull of Democrat senators, approximately half of the GOP senators (including Frist, the GOP senate majority leader), MoveOnKoSoroStryker (arguably this IS the true leadership of the DNC politburo), and the MSM which is always sympathetic to socialist/leftist causes, but especially for amnesty...

Can you imagine the expression on the face of El Presidente Bush when he found out that The PATRIOTS had been flooding their senators and congressmens phones, faxes, and emails with demands that this bad legislation be defeated... and it was.
The AXIS made another stealth attempt with a renumbered amnesty package (S.1639). They tried a tactic of making the legislators unavailable except through special hotlines to allow illegal aliens to call in, excluding The PATRIOTS. These numbers were made public and citizens started using them too. Once again, The Patriots prevailed over The AXIS.
The midterm elections in 2006 was a turning point. It turned the senate and house, starting in 2007, over to Democrats. The new majority was made possible by new Democrat candidates who ran on platforms that were, in most cases, more conservative than their opponents. Time will tell if this is true.
The AXIS was not through with their attempts though. Instead of the comprehensive, big package approach, they shifted gears and now are using the incremental approach of attaching small items to other unrelated legislation to slip it to us a little at a time. The DREAM act was such a piece of legislation.
The AXIS had one victory in December of 2007. The managed to defund and kill the border fence that was authorized in 2006. This is a reason that patriotic citizens must stand together.

El Presidente Bush has no intention of enforcing immigration law strenuously during his tenure, so this will fall to whoever is elected as the next president. By that time it may be necessary to use military units to clean out and retake our territory from the occupying hoard while guarding the border against military incursions from the south.]

The Bush scandal that the MSM refused to cover, because it was a willing participant, is known as Bordergate. The MSM tried to fabricate out of whole air various things to use as a scandal for Bush, such as manufactured military records by CBS/Damn Rather, when they had everything they need, if they had not been so heavily involved themselves, via their political allegiance to the socialist Democrats who are also primo amnesty panderers.
In December 2007, Michigan AG Mike Cox issued his opinion (weight of law unless successfully challenged in court) that illegal aliens may not be issued Michigan drivers licenses, a reversal of the opinion of the Democrat former AG Frank Kelley. How this will affect the illegals already holding Michigan Drivers Licenses (and possibly voter registration cards) was not dealt with as far as I can ascertain. We may well face a certain number of illegal voters at the polls.
Independent Liberal Democrat and amnesty co-conspirator Senator Joe Lieberman endorsed John McCain for president.
Bush pardoned and commuted sentences of 105 criminals (fraud, robbery, drug smuggling, forgery, counterfeiting, car theft, income tax evasion, military AWOL, moonshining and bootlegging (illegal liquor), theft of US mail, illegal weapons) and no pardons or commutations for Ramos, Compean, or any of the other law men who were railroaded into prison by his pet prosecutor, Johnny Sutton. George did spring Scooter Libby (commuted not pardoned).

The Vote against border security - The fence defunded
...that Duncan Hunter fought so hard to get passed last year. Remember this in the coming election!
Last night December 17, 2007, at 10:28 PM the Democrat majority controlled US House of Representatives gutted the Secure Fence Act, that mandated double-layered fencing and related infrastructure at strategic entry points along the Southwest border. This act of treachery was contained in H.R. 2764.
H.R. 2764, a bill that provides funding for several federal departments and agencies, was brought to the House floor and passed late last evening by the Democratic leadership. Not only does the bill contain provisions removing all specific locations as outlined by the Secure Fence Act, it also removes all requirements to construct any fencing or physical barriers along the border. This action basically repeals the Secure Fence Act and undermines past efforts to secure our nation's border.

Here is a link to the latest Ad by the Michigan GOP concerning the state budget and the impending shutdown of the state government.
Only Democrats are willing to do this to force tax increases.
Imagine if Republicans threatened to shut down government to force
spending cuts. 
Last year when the Granholm was running for re-election, everything was hunky dorey then suddenly after election time we were in crisis. WHY? The Granholm has been running the past 4 years with out a state constitution mandated balanced budget. The sympathetic MSM kept it quiet. Now in year 5 Jenny has decided to try to finish the job and bury Michigan which is in a steady downward spiral around the toilet bowl. With jobs fleeing the state and workers leaving to find employment elsewhere, things are looking pretty shakey right now. A tax increase could be the coup de grace.
My Solution... [FIRST]

Lets get someone who knows how to run a large corporation into the governors chair. The state needs a CEO with some large biz oriented talent to put it back on the road to solvency. For the common good of the people of the state of Michigan we must remove this incompetent governor and install someone that knows how to balance a budget. Who we need is a Lee Iococa type of Chief Executive Officer. We need someone with the sand to be able to decide where cuts must be made to get things working again.

Arlan Specter says "Please stay"
Taking cues from the Democrats, Craig is now reconsidering his decision to resign. A Democrat would be hailed as a hero for getting a little airport mens room gratification. Senator Specter obviously wants to establish that brand of camraderie amongst the Republicans in the Senate. Obviously, the Senate Pander Caucus is worried about losing such a hard core pro-amnesty supporter.

BOISE, Idaho - Sen. Larry Craig is reconsidering his decision to resign after his arrest in a Minnesota airport sex sting and may still fight for his Senate seat, his spokesman said Tuesday evening.
Craig, a Republican who has represented Idaho in Congress for 27 years, announced Saturday that he intends to resign from the Senate on Sept. 30. But since then, he's hired a prominent lawyer to investigate the possibility of reversing his plea, his spokesman said.
Specter urges patience
"It was a little more cut and dried a few days ago," Smith said. "There weren't many options. He was basically going to have to step aside. Now, there's a little more to it."

A note to Senator Stabenow on her web contact form
Now that we have defeated the Bush-Kennedy amnesty temporarily...
We need to bring our energies to bear on achieving national security through border security. S.1639 would not have done the job and we still need to address this issue.
I believe that Bush is commiting an impeachable offense by leaving our ports and borders open while he already has the tools in hand to do the job. Waiting until 2008 to rectify the situation with a new president is unsatisfactory because it gives the terrorists over a year to build and reinforce terror cells in the USA unimpeded. Look at what is happening in Great Britain right NOW. If Bush can not find it within himself to enforce the laws of the land, we need to demand his resignation or start impeachment hearings.
Please take the initiative to introduce a resolution demanding that Bush enforce border security using the laws already available to him.
Thank you for your strong stand for US workers in your votes to defeat S.1639.
I wish we could have inspired Carl Levin to do likewise.

It's the prediction of this blog that John McCain will not make it so far as the first primary in the 2008 Republican primary, due to a number of factors:
1) He leads in no national poll, and, in fact, has fallen to at least third place — with fourth place on the way.
2) He is in dire straights when it comes to fundraising.
3) There is simply no logic to his candidacy: He's neither a straight-shooting maverick (the logic of his 2000 run) nor the true conservative (the supposed logic of this run) nor the fall-back consensus candidate (the
Dole '96 model — which is hardly operational in such a strong primary field).
Thus, the John McCain death watch...

* The Times of London, with some speculation about an early McCain withdrawal.
* A new poll out of Nevada showing Mr. McCain in fourth place, in single digits.

The pro-amnesty Senators - The Cloture Vote (S.1639)
Senators of the Amnesty persuasion voted to cut off debate by 64-35 enough to satisfy the 3/5th s rule (or is it 2/3rds?) Anyway it was more than enough to assure thart the Democrats can now pass this turkey without any Republicans. We know that wont happen because McCain, Hagel, Brownback, Martinez, Specter, and other panderers will fall all over themselves to be on the pro-amnesty side at the final vote. The vote did not follow straight party lines so this was a vote by traitors and patriots. Lets see who votes to push this out of the senate this next week.
[note: I was just listening to the Hannity show and he had Kit Bond (R-MO) on there explaining how this vote for cloture was a vote to allow debate (?????) Yup...that is EXACTLY how he put it. Someone cut a deal with this traitor so he would have his 10 minutes in the sun to debate his amendment and he went for it. Either these assholes really do think we are stupid or they are. Brownback is on the traitor list... no surprize. He is a primo panderer. SURPRIZE! Senator Ensign is on it. WTF? McCain, Martinez...no surprizes there, hmmm that Bitch McConnell from Kaintucky is in there. Bet they hold a good old fashioned ass whoopin for him if he dares step back into the state. O'course, they might not find out about it for a week or two, 'cuz of donkey back snail mail and carrier pigeon express delivery.] ;^)

The Cloture Vote - The Democrat Amnesty Bill (S.1639)
The Cloture Vote on the Bush-Kennedy-McCain amnesty package S.1639 has been held and a substantial number of purported Republican Senators committed political suicide. I will have the official senate vote shortly and will post the names. I am curious to see which way my state's two Democrat senators voted. Michigan is still in a one state recession and Debbie Stabenow has been saying she was against the bill. Let us just see! It would be no surprize if Carl Levin voted for it. He is as pro-amnesty as they come. Carl will be running for his seat again in 2008.

You are apparently one of those wishy-washy fence riders. You should be given a tar and feather party and a ride out of town on a hitchin' rail.
Why would you think that voting citizens would ever trust such arrogant, treasonous, disloyal to your oaths of office, elected representatives. The people have spoken loud and clear, "NO AMNESTY", but you have decided to disregard us and instead listen to illegals and their shills.

Senator Stabenow,
Please urge your peers on both sides of the aisle to ignore Bush the Amnesty Pimp, and to instead support citizens as you are doing. He expects us to believe that he can set up the massive bureaucracy to do background checks on illegal aliens in 24 hours when a citizen can not get a passport in 12-16 weeks. Bush the Deceiver - 24 hour background checks... yup, sure, you betcha, uh huh
Today Bush was showing his horn and pointy tail with his outright lies. He has joined the BIG LIE by saying our immigration system is broken. It is NOT broken. What we have are laws that the Bush administration refuses to enforce, but he expects us to believe that after the amnesty bill is passed he will enforce the replacement laws.
Bush the Amnesty Pimp, with his string of Amnesty Whores in the senate, thinks we will fall for it. He has his string of "johns" in the public who are ready to lie down with his "working sluts" and say whatever will help him pull this one off.
If the government can not issue a passport to a citizen in 12-16 weeks, how are we to believe that by magic they will do background checks on 20 million illegals in 24 hours? The bureaucracy to do that would be staggering. It would be far cheaper to just build the border fence along the full length of the US-Mexico border. The fence would be much more beneficial to the citizens of the USA too. A full length fence backed by electronic monitoring in the more remote regions and live patrols in the more populated ones would work the best.

Thank you for your NAY vote on cloture of S.1348.
Too many Senators, for whatever reasons are in a rush to jam this very bad bill to the citizens of the US and we need strong senate representation. You are fulfilling your promise to help Michigan's working citizens and their families.
[To my other readers, please do not take this wrong. I am not changing politically, but I believe in giving credit where it is due. Debbie Stabenow IS looking out for the working citizens as she said she would . If she starts representing illegals it will be reported and disseminated as widely as I can make it. Same can be said about Carl Levin, our other US Senator. Let me state clearly: I do not trust politicians. Especially those who have been in office for more than one term. Washington DC has a built-in corruption factor that is like a disease. With some politicians, you can trust them talk out of both sides of their faces. This is not a party thing. There has been betrayal of citizen-voter trust from Republicans and Democrats. Who will regain and hold that trust?]

I just checked the stats. My home state Senators: Stabenow voted against cloture (VERY good Debbie. Your constituents are gratefull.) and Levin abstained from voting. Effectively a NAY. Hmmm Carl, you know we are tracking this and you are coming up for re-election. You must be very conflicted on this.
Democrat presidential hopefulls Rodham-Clinton and Osama-Obama voted YEA.
"Loose Cannon" McCain abstained from the vote. Other abstentions are listed at the bottom of this report.

S.1348, The immigration Debate, La Raza (and corporate sponsors), and more
I was watching C-Span last night... amendment after amendment to S.1348.
Some good, some bad, all attempting to put wings on a pig and make it fly so that they can sail it past us.
The Amnesty Pimp in Chief (Bush) is getting impatient to get this through. Two of his Amnesty-Under-Pimps, Kennedy and McCain, are adamant that this will pass without dilution. They are getting a lot of help from the Amnesty Whores in the Senate.
The sovereignty of the USA is in peril, allowing our borders to remain open and unprotected, just so the Bush Cartel can continue business as usual bringing illegals (including drug smugglers, illegal drugs, terrorists, and worse) into the USA to satisfy the corrupt employers who want cheap slave labor? They can't turn back the clock far enough to reinstitute slavery, so the next best thing is to let in low/no education immigrants to work for slave labor wages, and simultaneously drive citizens out of the work force or lower us to the same wage scale. What is good for big business is good for America, RIGHT? I've read this over at Blogs4Brownback blog! If you go over to the web site of one of the illegal immigrant's front organization, La Raza, then look up the supporter list, you will be shocked to learn that nearly EVERY large corporation in the USA has signed on. Many of them are multinationals that have no allegiance to the USA anymore if they ever truly did. Most big corporations are now foreign owned. It is time to put some REAL teeth into employer sanctions and fines.
Have you wondered which lobby groups are pulling the strings? La Raza is a prime mover in giving direction to the Amnesty Pimps and Amnesty Whores in Congress and the White House. Here is a sample from the English Language side of the La Raza :

Jeff lays it out very nicely how the US is being betrayed by our President and imperial Senators.
The betrayal can only be construed as treason because it leaves out borders completely open and unprotected. They take oaths to protect and defend, and have put aside all sense of duty to the country in favor of a sense of duty to the rich lobbyists that want cheap slave labor. They are bought politicians and are staying bought. They are traitors in every sense of the word and should be brought to a traitors ultimate demise... all of them. Yes, including the Traitor-in-Chief. We can file the images along side of the fate of Saddam. Historians will be able to look back at two world leaders who both danced on the end of a rope. Wake Up People - Mexico's economy depends on exporting low wage workers

Wake up people or you will be the new minority in as short a period of time as 10 years. Your children and grandchildren will have to learn several languages to get by. English may be relegated to second-language status. Medical care as you know it now will be gone forever.
Amnesty for illegals is about to happen unless you let your representative in the House know in no uncertain terms that his time in office is over unless he protects you, your children, grand children, and heirs downline. Most senators are like Bush. They really do not give a damn what you think unless it is time to get a vote from you. For example: US Senator Debbie Stabenow [D-Mi] this last year in the midterm election voted against S.2611, lets see how she votes on S.1348. She voted for Social Security for illegals and then voted against S.2611 when she saw that it might hurt her re-election to vote for it.
George Bush no longer has to listen to US citizens. He is a lame duck in the last term of his presidency. He is virtually untouchable.
The ONLY thing that will get his attention is the real possibility of impeachment. Democrats will not do it because they now have someone who can be eventually bent to their will in the Oval Office. That he can be blamed for anything not politically correct is part of the equation. Last year there was serious talk of impeaching Bush from Democrats. Not now. They now consider him a usefull idiot. Besides he will help Dems gain a new temporary minority to represent. If any RINO thinks the legalized illegals will be Republican, they must be huffing glue.
As for policiy matters, Bush has Iraq/Afghanistan overseas. A necessary war that keeps Al Quaeda tied down there. He sends our troops over there and leaves our borders completely open here.
Then there is his domestic focus which does not include citizens. He is 100% behind amnesty and citizenship for illegal aliens. It doesnt matter that in 10 years there will be 100 million aliens pushing citizens out of the way as the citizens become the new minority. Opinions of citizens do not even register. Bush wants to dissolve our borders with Canada and Mexico and form one big North American Union, much like the European Union with new laws, courts and money. Obviously we do not count in this calculation. He wants increased immigration from other third world countries. We have to keep a ready supply of unskilled low wage laborers to be assured of a serf class. The American middle class will become part of his dream as he will be part of the ruling class.
