The Obamessiah supports infanticide. Links below show that he maintained his 100% pro-abortion record in the Illinois legislature.
The following statement was issued on Monday, August 11, 2008, by the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) in Washington, D.C.
In 2000, the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act (BAIPA) was first introduced in Congress. This was a two-paragraph bill intended to clarify that any baby who is entirely expelled from his or her mother, and who shows any signs of life, is to be regarded as a legal "person" for all federal law purposes, whether or not the baby was born during an attempted abortion. In 2002, the bill was enacted, after a "neutrality clause" was added to explicitly state that the bill expressed no judgment, in either direction, about the legal status of a human prior to live birth. (The "neutrality" clause read, “Nothing in this section shall be construed to affirm, deny, expand, or contract any legal status or legal right applicable to any member of the species homo sapiens at any point prior to being ‘born alive’ as defined in this section.”) The bill passed without a dissenting vote in either house of Congress. Meanwhile, Barack Obama, as a member of the Illinois State Senate, actively opposed a state version of the BAIPA during three successive regular legislative sessions. His opposition to the state legislation continued into 2003 -- even after NARAL had withdrawn its initial opposition to the federal bill, and after the final federal bill had been enacted in August 2002.
When Obama was running for the U.S. Senate in 2004, his Republican opponent criticized him for supporting "infanticide." Obama countered this charge by claiming that he had opposed the state BAIPA because it lacked the pre-birth neutrality clause that had been added to the federal bill. As the Chicago Tribune reported on October 4, 2004, "Obama said that had he been in the U.S. Senate two years ago, he would have voted for the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, even though he voted against a state version of the proposal. The federal version was approved; the state version was not. . . . The difference between the state and federal versions, Obama explained, was that the state measure lacked the federal language clarifying that the act would not be used to undermine Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court opinion that legalized abortion."
During Obama's 2008 run for President, his campaign and his defenders have asserted repeatedly and forcefully that it is a distortion, or even a smear, to suggest that Obama opposed a state born-alive bill that was the same as the federal bill. See, for example, this June 30, 2008 "factcheck" issued by the Obama campaign, in the form that it still appeared on the Obama website on August 7, 2008. The Obama "cover story" has often been repeated as fact, or at least without challenge, in major organs of the news media. (Two recent examples: CNN reported on June 30, 2008, "Senator Obama says if he had been in the U.S. Senate in 2002, he, too, would have voted in favor of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act because unlike the Illinois bill, it included language protecting Roe v. Wade." The New York Times reported in a story on August 7, 2008 that Obama "said he had opposed the bill because it was poorly drafted and would have threatened the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that established abortion as a constitutional right. He said he would have voted for a similar bill that passed the United States Senate because it did not have the same constitutional flaw as the Illinois bill.")
National Right to Life and other pro-life observers have always regarded Obama's "defense" as contrived, since the original two-paragraph BAIPA on its face applied only after a live birth; the "neutrality clause" added in 2001 merely made this explicit, and therefore the new clause did not change the substance of the original bill.
Moreover, the overwhelming majority of liberal, pro-abortion members of the U.S. House of Representatives did not embrace the initial NARAL position that the original bill was an attack on Roe v. Wade. The Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee, then as now, were a solidly liberal group, yet only one of them voted against the original BAIPA, without the "neutrality clause," and he cited a different reason. Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), who supported the bill and who described himself as "as pro-choice as anybody on Earth" -- argued that under his understanding of Roe "if an abortion is performed, or a natural birth occurred, at any age, [even] three months, and the product of that was living outside the mother, and somebody came and shot him, I don't think there's any doubt that person would be prosecuted for murder." When the original bill -- with no "neutrality clause" -- came up on the House floor on September 26, 2000, it passed 380-15.These facts should give pause to those who have unskeptically accepted Obama's claim that the Illinois BAIPA bills that he opposed in 2001 and 2002, which were modeled on the original federal BAIPA, were crafted to attack Roe v. Wade.
For the moment we can set that debate aside, however, for this reason: Documents obtained by NRLC now demonstrate conclusively that Obama's entire defense is based on a brazen factual misrepresentation.
The documents prove that in March 2003, state Senator Obama, then the chairman of the Illinois state Senate Health and Human Services Committee, presided over a committee meeting in which the "neutrality clause" (copied verbatim from the federal bill) was added to the state BAIPA, with Obama voting in support of adding the revision. Yet, immediately afterwards, Obama led the committee Democrats in voting against the amended bill, and it was killed, 6-4.
The bill that Chairman Obama killed, as amended, was virtually identical to the federal law; the only remaining differences were on minor points of bill-drafting style. To see the language of the two bills side by side, click here.

Less than two years after this meeting, Obama began to publicly claim that he opposed the state BAIPA because it lacked the "neutrality" clause, and that he would have supported the federal version (had he been a member of Congress) because it contained the "neutrality" clause. His claim has been accepted on its face by various media outlets, producing stories that have in turn been quoted by the Obama campaign and Obama defenders in attacking anyone who asserts that Obama opposed born-alive legislation similar to the federal bill. It has also been forcefully repeated by advocacy groups such as NARAL (see, for example, this June 30, 2008 "alert" from NARAL).
It appears that as of August 7, 2008, only one writer -- Terence Jeffrey, a contributing editor to HumanEvents.com -- had correctly reported the essence of this story, in a column posted on January 16, 2008 (read it here), but his report was ignored by the Obama campaign and overlooked by others at the time.
Now, the uncovering of the Senate Committee Action Report and the contemporary Associated Press report shed new light on Senator Obama's four-year effort to cover up his real record of refusing to protect live-born survivors of abortion.

DALLAS - U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama side-stepped a pointed query about abortion on Saturday by “mega-pastor” Rick Warren during a televised forum.
Asked at what point a baby gets “human rights,” Obama, who strongly supports abortion rights, said: “… whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity … is above my pay grade.”
He went on to reiterate his view that it was important to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies.

Last week, I wrote on efforts by House GOP members to draw attention to the fact that Nancy Pelosi sent House members home for the summer without a vote on domestic oil drilling. The American people want it, and the GOP House members are fighting for it. I also wrote on how big the energy issue is. It could be THE issue of the upcoming elections... an issue upon which Republicans could run AND win.
However, this is a new week, and whenever too much time passes, there is bound to be a new effort by the GOP to stall momentum and stab conservatives right in the heart. Who needs Democrats when so many GOP "leaders" act just like them? Now, we have the "Gang of 10." This group of senators (5 Republicans and 5 Democrats) claims to have forged a "bi-partisan energy compromise." In reality, we have a group of five GOP senators who are set on taking the winning issues of drilling and energy off the table and selling out to the liberals.
A report in Investor's Business Daily (IBD) sums up the situation perfectly: "If you thought Republicans were no longer 'The Stupid Party,' then you haven't met the senators who may have just destroyed the GOP's biggest hope this election year: the drilling issue."
IBD summarizes the issue as follows:
Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson of Georgia, Bob Corker of Tennessee, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John Thune of South Dakota — remember their names if things go badly for the GOP this November.
With the issue of domestic drilling to provide relief for suffering consumers landing right in the laps of embattled congressional Republicans, those five — none of whom faces any immediate danger of losing his seat — decided to join with some crafty Democrats and smash to pieces that gift from the heavens.
The "compromise" they are promoting is actually a wholesale giveaway to Democrats. Touted as a drilling plan, it actually imposes about $84 billion in new taxes on oil companies and keeps the offshore and Arctic National Wildlife Refuge drilling bans.

We could expect no less from the RINOs in the senate, always eager to sink the GOP or complete the conversion to the Republican Neo-Democrats. After all, they will want to be able to caucus with the Democrats.

I have a dog in the oncoming fight between Mark Schauer and current Representative Tim Walberg of the 7th District. Schauer wants the job, but the lengths to which he'll go to get it are disturbing. His latest proposal is to hike the royalties oil and gas companies would pay to Michigan. Currently they pay one-sixth of the gross proceeds if natural gas or oil comes from land where the state owns the mineral rights. Schauer wants to jack it up to half.
How does this violate the state Constitution?
- Michigan's royalties from oil and gas development go to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, which buys land for public recreation. The fund's purpose is spelled out in the state constitution. Schauer said he's confident the Legislature can find a way to spend money from higher royalties to help develop clean and renewable energy.
Schauer wants the legislature to "find a way" to break the law and deny the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund revenue that it was constitutionally promised. In other words, let the legislature do the dirty work and keep his hands clean for the election. If he's willing to violate what the state founders set in stone on this issue, why should he stop there?
This is another great reason to re-elect Tim Walberg.

Election 2008 - The Border Fence - Who is FOR and AGAINST border security
This should be an important issue this election year 2008... who is for securing our borders and who is against. No surprize, the Democrats are open/no borders traitors with few exceptions (and some of these exceptions will really floor you).
In 2007, the House of Representatives voted to repeal and defund the border fence on nearly a straight party-line vote, Democrats FOR defunding, Republicans AGAINST. The amendment to defund and repeal was tucked into the appropriations legislation to conceal it.
I blogged this "The Vote against border security - The fence defunded" in December of 2007.
A YEA vote is a vote to pass the legislation defunding the fence (AGAINST Border Security).
A NAY vote is a vote against the legislation which defunds the fence (FOR Border Security).

The following is not medical advice and only my personal experience. Always seek the advice of a physician before making a medical decision.
My wife is a Registered Nurse and her suggestion has made a huge improvement in my life. I was placed on Synthroid when I was 19 years old for being hypothyroid at a serious level. It was determined that I had gone undiagnosed for a significant period of time. This certainly was no fault of mine and had gone over and over again to the physician with complaints of hypothyroidism. However, I was always told that someone as young as myself and being a male made it impossible for me to be hypothyroid. My physician refused to run a TSH test. I finally demanded a test and sure enough my TSH levels were through the roof!
I was placed on Synthyroid and showed some improvement right away, however I NEVER felt 100%... [continue]

KABUL (Reuters) - More foreign fighters are joining the ranks of Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan as militants increasingly cross the border from Pakistan to attack Afghan and Western troops, the Afghan Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
Afghanistan has kept up a barrage of criticism against neighbor Pakistan in the last three months, accusing Pakistani agents of being behind a string of high-profile attacks and allowing militants sanctuary along the long and porous border.
"The presence of foreign fighters is increasing, and increasingly the operations of the terrorists are led by foreigners," Defense Ministry spokesman General Mohammad Zaher Azimi told a news conference.
Afghan, NATO and U.S.-led coalition forces are struggling to contain a sharp surge in violence as the traditional summer fighting season gets into full swing.

McCain backs off his no-new-tax pledge

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate John McCain drew a sharp rebuke Monday from conservatives after he signaled an openness to a higher payroll tax for Social Security, contrary to previous vows not to raise taxes of any kind.
Speaking with reporters on his campaign bus on July 9, he cited a need to shore up Social Security, saying: "I cannot tell you what I would do, except to put everything on the table."
He went a step farther Sunday with his reponse on a nationally televised talk show to a question about payroll tax increases.
"There is nothing that's off the table. I have my positions, and I'll articulate them. But nothing's off the table," McCain said. "I don't want tax increases. But that doesn't mean that anything is off the table."
Indeed, McCain frequently has promised not to raise taxes.
At a July 7 town-hall meeting in Denver, he said voters faced a stark choice between him and Democrat Barack Obama.
"Sen. Obama will raise your taxes," McCain said. "I won't." [LIAR!]

Obamessiah's European Priorities Don't Included Wounded Solders
While on his triumphal world tour, currently swinging through central Europe, the Obamessiah was scheduled to visit wounded soldiers for his patented faith healing CHANGE sessions involving his MSM press secretaries. Plans change because military hospitals do not allow their facilities to be used for campaign photo-ops. Hospitals are for healing, not political cred building for neophyte politicians. The Obamessiah decided to better use his time to pander to rockers at a staged concert to draw a crowd. I wonder if Obamessiah's staffers supplied pot and blow to the rocker crowd to keep'em happy? I was surprized that a riot didn't break out when he started bumping his choppers on stage instead of a band playing. A little chemical entertainment is the most likely scneario. They would cheer for more of the same. A little of the "Yeah, yeah... so shut up and let the band back on stage!"
The world is basking in the glory of the Obamessiah.

People, he wanted to go, really he did. But, no one could find a movable tele-prompter. He couldn't be expected to be able to talk to a wounded Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman off the cuff, and he'd have to move around as the wounded probably wouldn't be able to walk to him, one by one, to bask in the glory that is the Obamessiah.

What is driving the soul deep yearning for the Obamessiah here and overseas? Three words describe it best: Bush Derangement Syndrome

Europeans are being given a chance to express the BDS and possibly get a vote if the Dems can figure a way to manufacture enough fake expatriate voter registrations to allow for absentee ballots for all of them. Be alert for them to try to block ballots from overseas serving airmen, soldiers, sailors, and marines.
We have illegal aliens here who managed to get registered before the drivers license/motor voter easy portal to voter registration was clamped down. We have heard an estimate that up to 3% of the vote is illegals and it is enough to sway the results one way or the other. In this years election it almost doesn't matter because both sides are belly crawling panderers to illegals, and will give legal status to these criminals. I just want to block the illegal vote.
How will the illegals, that have managed to register to vote, accomplish the deed this year? Absentee Ballots, now that they are registered they can vote where no one can challenge their vote. The absentee ballot is the means that Democrats use to manufacture graveyard votes, pet registration votes, New England-Florida Snowbird votes. They are endlessly creative at ways to defraud the voting public. The absentee ballot offers the easiest means to manufacture large numbers of fraudulent votes. Electronic, non-paper, voting machines are right in the mix now that butterfly ballots are no longer used.

Health Care For Illegals - Part and Parcel of Obama and McCain Amnesty Dreams
Remember back to the big panderfests of the 2006-2007 legislative years when our elected representatives were clawing and scratching to see who could grovel the lowest before the illegals. Senate Bill 2611 was one of the results. We have the list of all those who voted for it. Obama and McCain are on the list. Both voted to give social security to illegals. The votes are part of public record. Obama and McCain are on record voting to give fake background checks to illegals, then allowing them to stay with benefits without having to wait for citizenship.

Gasoline and Diesel Prices... Do you feel like you've been raped?
Do you have a choice? Can you just park your car and walk to work, or take public transportation? Most of us can NOT!
Pundits like Rush Limbaugh and others pooh-pooh the idea that speculators are driving the price of gas at the pump.
I just did a quick drive around my local area to see what the posted prices for regular gas are. Within a couple miles of where I am typing this from, the low price was $4.22 and the high price is $4.25. A couple weeks ago we had at some of these stations selling it for $4.12 so there has not been a huge amount of movement, but it has been upward regardless.
But have you noticed how prices shoot up overnight at the slightest hint of anything affecting oil, not just the supply? Speculation? Who is speculating?
When oil prices go down, gas prices stay up with hints that the overnight increased (gouge) price may slowly fall over the coming weeks.
Gas prices follow (and even anticipate) oil prices upward movement but not when they fall, so you figure out, is there gouging going on, and who is gouging who. Follow the money... who is making "record prifits" while the country suffers? It is not like we have a choice.
One thing is certain, our high gasoline prices are pleasing to the Democrat controlled congress. 10 years ago Der Schlickmeister vetoed oil exploration in ANWR and off the continental shelf when we could have been drilling and producing now. Now they say that we can't drill our way out of the current crisis. Yes we can but with the Democrats, everything is a crisis and it is pleasing to them They are happiest when the country is suffering.

Liberals have come up with two mantras which we hear on every talk show, in every press conference and in every speech addressing the high cost of gasoline.
[1] The first mantra is that it will take at least 10, maybe 30 years before we see a drop of oil coming from the ground at the aforementioned sites.
On the first point, correspondent Ken Wood pointed out that Larry Kudlow recently featured on his television show James T. Hackett, President and CEO of Anadarko Petroleum Company. Whereas some liberals are saying it could take 30 years for the oil to be available, Hackett said it would take two or three years, depending upon where the oil was drilled. Indeed, I saw one oil exploration expert on Fox News Channel who said that if the right equipment were available it would take only one year to get the first oil since the oil companies know exactly where the oil is located in the outer Continental Shelf. One oil shale expert told proponents of drilling in the House of Representatives that the first 800 million barrels of oil from shale could be available in two or three years. The remaining estimated two trillion barrels of oil from shale would take longer to have ready because they would be more difficult to extricate. But the initial 800 million barrels would help the U.S. economy.
[2] The second mantra is that greedy oil companies already have 86 million acres of leases provided by the Federal Government. They only want more leases to satisfy their greed.
On the second point, I received two different answers. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK), who used to be in the oil business, said the reason oil companies are not drilling on the 86 million acres is that there is no substantial oil available on those lands to make drilling economically viable. He said the government only permits exploration on those leased lands, so oil companies have explored them and found that they would produce little. The second answer came from Hackett. He said the federal government is, in effect, guilty of fraud. They accept the lease money and the annual rents but have refused to grant permission to drill there. He implied that some oil had been found that would be worthwhile to extract but since they cannot drill the consumer sees no benefits. Either way, to accuse oil companies of greed is an unfounded assertion.

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., argued in San Diego today that just because Sen. John McCain has made multiple visits to Iraq, that does not mean that he has the correct perspective on the region.
"John McCain has been in Congress 25 years, no doubt about that. If this is a longevity measure, then John McCain wins," Obama said to reporters. "I'll recall the visit he made last year in which he was surrounded by helicopters and SWAT teams and came back and reported how safe everything was in Baghdad. You know, I don't think that that was indicative of what was actually happening on the ground at that time."
Obama is heading to Iraq later this month for what will be only his second visit to the country -– compared to McCain’s eight trips.
In response, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds says, ""If Barack Obama believes that visiting Iraq and meeting with commanders will not give him any new perspective, then we can only assume he's going just to smile for the cameras."
Obama shot down the question that the disproportionate number of visits has left him with a lack of knowledge about the region -– citing past positions he's taken about the Iraq war.
