Missing: Large lake in southern Chile
SANTIAGO (Al-Reuters) - A lake in southern Chile has mysteriously disappeared, prompting speculation the ground has simply opened up and swallowed it whole.
The lake was situated in the Magallanes region in Patagonia and was fed by water, mostly from melting glaciers.
It had a surface area of between 4 and 5 hectares (10-12 acres) -- about the size of 10 soccer pitches.
"In March we patrolled the area and everything was normal ... we went again in May and to our surprise we found the lake had completely disappeared," said Juan Jose Romero, regional director of Chile's National Forestry Corporation CONAF.
"The only things left were chunks of ice on the dry lake-bed and an enormous fissure," he told Reuters.
Oh GREAT! Now we will hear from Algore and the global warming nazis about how this is more proof of global warming! I suppose that Oinker Moore will want to get into the act and make a documentary on the great dissapearing lake. And more bad news from Hawaii...
Third crack found on Hawaii's Kilauea
HONOLULU (Associated Press) - A third large crack has formed on Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes, park officials said Wednesday. A forest area that is home to rare plants and species could be in danger.
That tears it! The environmental wackos will be in a tizzy, demanding that Congress and EPA pass some laws or regulations making it illegal for the volcano to erupt. If it does we will all have to pay additional taxes to cleanup and restore the area. Algore will say it is caused by global warming.

Snows shut Argentina-Chile crossing
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP)- Heavy snows battered the Andean border region of Argentina and Chile on Wednesday, forcing the closure of a key mountain highway connecting the two countries and idling thousands of trucks.
Algore and the environment nazis will be shaking with glee over this conclusive proof of global warming! Humankind must be at fault for the snowfall closing the passes.
