The REAL McCain on his "Double Talk Express"

I just received an email directing me to this site... The Real McCain

Go there to read and find out more info on the senate's loose cannon with a lit fuse.

The straight talk express should be known as the double talk express. [or how about the loose cannon express?]

The Governor's Michigan First Healthcare Plan

Thank you for using Congress.org Mail System

Three questions regarding "Michigan First Healthcare Plan":

1) How will it be funded?

2) How many of the expanding population of illegal immigrants in Michigan will be allowed into the pool using this plan?

3) If illegals are allowed into it, will citizens be allowed to opt out of funding the plan.

U.S., state work on health initiative

Thanks and a tip o' the derby to Saul Anuzis "That's Saul Folks!"

Federal cabinet member supports governor's plan to help 550,000 uninsured, but funding delays plan.

Gary Heinlein and Kim Kozlowski / The Detroit News

Gov. Jennifer Granholm and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt said they are getting closer to an agreement on the governor's $1 billion proposal to expand health coverage to the state's 550,000 uninsured residents.

But a year after the governor announced the plan, they said federal and state officials still are trying to work out a major point: how much each branch of government will pay toward it.

"We're going to continue to try to work out our not-so-far-apart differences," said Granholm, who first described her plan during her State of the State address in January 2006.

She calls it the Michigan First Healthcare Plan.

Leavitt, who was in Michigan on Monday to meet with Detroit-area business leaders, praised the fact that Granholm's proposal would provide coverage for more people through a government-private industry partnership, rather than an entirely government-sponsored approach.

###

My question regarding this... how much of this will be redirected into healthcare for the expanding illegal alien population that Michigan is hosting on the backs of its citizens?

House Democrats try to counterfeit votes

House Democrats try to counterfeit votes

by George Will

"The House of Representatives shall be composed of members chosen every second year by the people of the several states ..."

--Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 2.

"What's the Constitution between friends?"

-- Rep. Timothy Campbell, a Tammany Democrat, to Democratic President Grover Cleveland after Cleveland said that a bill Campbell favored was unconstitutional....

....There they go again. House Democrats should at least provide variety in their venality. Last Wednesday, fresh from legislating new ethics regarding relations with lobbyists, they demonstrated that there are worse forms of corruption than those involving martinis and money.

What part of the words "several states" do House Democrats not understand? Their cynical assumption is that "the people of the several states" will not notice this dilution of their representation in the House. [by additional votes of non state representatives who are observers]....

....For Speaker Pelosi, two questions about the possible scope of your majoritarian abuse: Given your disregard of the unambiguous language and clear intent of Article I, Section 2 -- which uses the word "state" eight times to designate the only entity from which a member of the House may be chosen -- do you acknowledge any impediment to using your majority to give "Committee of the Whole" voting power to a delegate from, say, the AFL-CIO?

Or, for that matter: Do you think that Article I, Section 5 ("Each house shall be the judge of the ... qualifications of its own members") allows your majority to give such voting powers to your hairdresser? If not, why not?

[to read the whole George Will article]

Lets play "Who's a moderate?" Pete Hoekstra?

Mitt Romney is no conservative. He falls to the left of center on some issues. Lately he has been swinging back and forth looking for what resonates with the crowd he is hoping to fool (the wobbly weak kneed Republicans). Moderate is the title that members of this kind of politician like to use. This puts them in easy reach for the lefty socialist libs to embrace.

I just received word that Pete Hoekstra has signed on with Mitt Romney so we can chalk him in with the the moderates...

We are going to be surprized at who is moderate and was thought to be conservative.

Start keeping records so we know who will need replacing by a REAL conservative.

Comments:

Romney also has the support of Jim DiMent, so you are going to have to use better logic...

Romney is gyrating all over looking for supporters. To be a "Republican" elected politician in a hard blue state of the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts, you have to be all over the map. Mitt Romney is nothing remotely resembling a conservative.

To be a Romney supporter this early in the race, means that you must be coming out of the closet if you have previously exhibited conservative traits and tendencies.

I assume that you mean Jim DeMint when you mention the name above saying I am wrong? He has been on the conservative side of the issues including the S.2611 vote.

With real conservatives forming exploratory committees for the presidential race and more to come, an early support pledge for a "center to left" moderate speaks volumes about Senator DeMint. There is still a whole year in which to look over candidates credentials.

Sorry Mike, my logic holds up!

From your web site on Willard M. Romney:

4. Getting Immigration Right:
Immigration has been an important part of our nation’s success. The current system, however, puts up a concrete wall to the best and brightest, yet those without skill or education are able to walk across the border. We must reform the current immigration laws so we can secure our borders, implement a mandatory biometrically enabled, tamper proof documentation and employment verification system, and increase legal immigration into America.

###

(1) LEGAL Immigration has been an important part of our nation’s success.
(2) The current system puts up a concrete wall to the best and brightest. [Only because politicians like Bush and the senate RINOs, the national Chamber of Commerce, plus a weird coalition of Democrats and the AFL-CIO all want to import cheap uneducated low wage labor. The best and brightest do not fit into this political paradigm.]

To get immigration "right" we simply have to do the work politicians are unwilling to do. Enforce the law and actually deport illegals instead of practicing catch and release.

We have perfectly adequate laws to deal with the situation RIGHT NOW! We have the manpower to do the job, RIGHT NOW!

All calls for reforming immigration laws are to dilute and water them down, allowing law breakers an easy path to citizenship when all they deserve is deportation at the very least.

Mr Romney is not any different than George Bush on this or he would have said it in clear unambiguous language.

Bush says he opposes an easy path to citizenship and then proposes a $2000 price tag. Does Mitt raise it to $3000, or higher? What other fake punishments does he propose before bestowing the boon of citizenship as a reward for breaking the country's immigration laws?

Current immigration law, when enforced, makes border jumpers felons and unacceptable as citizens.

Can Mitt just call for enforcement of immigration law instead of trying to water it down?
Q. What is Mitt is seeking to do?
A. He wants to reform access to the USA for legal immigrants making it as easy as walking across the border like the illegal aliens do now.

SORRY DUDE! (NOT!) I want to keep immigration law restrictive so we do get the best and brightest, not just the dregs of the world.

We are NOT the world welfare agency!

On this basis alone, Mitt Romney is unacceptable as a candidate for president to me, though he has enough other socially liberal "warts".

Contests, Lawsuits, and Ethnic Cleansing

Title: Contests, Lawsuits, and Ethnic Cleansing

Ok folks, you just can’t make this stuff up:

CHICAGO – A woman has sued a Spanish-language radio station in Chicago, claiming it refused to give her the Corvette she won in a 2005 contest because she is undocumented.

Umm, that means she is an illegal alien and has no right to be in this nation, much less calling in and entering radio contests. But, like everything else in this immigration debate, the lawbreaker is always the victim:

Maribel Nava Alvarez, 22, said she was never told she needed to be a U.S. citizen or legal resident to win the car in a raffle sponsored by WLEY-FM.

Of course the station, like any other entity, is required by law to reporting winnings of over $500 to the government and that means they have to ask for a Social Security number. Ms. Alvarez doesn’t have one but that isn’t going to stop her even though…

…the station’s parent company, Spanish Broadcasting System, threatened to turn her in to U.S. immigration officials if she tried to pursue the issue in court.

But they aren’t going to scare Ms. Alvarez or keep her from her ‘legal right’ to that car. No way!

Alvarez, who said she has left the Chicago area out of fear that she would be deported, is suing for breach of contract and emotional distress.

I told you that you just can’t make this stuff up. And when you’re finished scratching your head over that one, be sure to see:

Systematic extermination of white people from Right Truth which highlights the genocide of white farmers in Africa. It is a chilling look at what the West could be facing as a result of massive illegal immigration.

Could it really happen here? Could ethnic cleansing ever happen in America?

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, it already is. African Americans are facing ethnic cleansing in Los Angeles as the Mexican Mafia has given the “green light” to Latino gang members to rid their neighborhoods of African Americans.

Acting on orders from the Mexican Mafia, Latino gang members in Southern California are terrorizing and killing blacks.

A message from Tom Tancredo...

This was received in email today...

To Secure U.S. Borders, I Need Your Support for President

Dear Friend of American Security,

My name is Tom Tancredo. I'm going to run for the Republican nomination for President—if I can gain your support.

Give me JUST ONE MINUTE, and you'll understand why I HAVE TO RUN, and why I MUST HAVE your support.

(Already know me and want to support my candidacy with a contribution? Click Here to go to my Secure Donation page.)

Photo of Congressman Tom Tancredo You may have seen me on TV, especially in the past couple of weeks, since I formed my Presidential Exploratory Committee.

But speaking out is nothing new for me. For the last eight years of my life, I've fought for the Security of America's Borders and for Immigration Sanity.

When I was first elected to Congress, there was no organized effort to fight the Open Borders crowd who ran Capitol Hill. Things looked very bleak.

So I formed the House Immigration Reform Caucus, which now boasts over 100 members. Since I formed the caucus, NOT A SINGLE ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY BILL HAS PASSED in Congress!

But the other side has recently been encouraged by the election of the new liberal Congress, where the Open Borders crowd is more powerful than ever. Now Pelosi and Kennedy are in charge. They are going to fight hard for illegal alien amnesties and sharply higher immigration.

It broke all our hearts on Tuesday when we heardPresident Bush hint in his State of the Union Address that he was prepared to work mostly with Democrats to push through a "comprehensive" immigration bill that would, whatever he calls it, include a massive amnesty for illegal aliens.

(Please Click Here to go to my Secure Donation page and make a donation. I can only represent your views on making Border Security a key part of the Republican agenda if I have your financial support.)

And here's the thing that REALLY makes me angry.

Most Republican Candidates for President agree with Pelosi and Kennedy, working day and night for millions more immigrants, for amnesty after amnesty.

If I don't run, the Frightening Possibility is that BOTH the Republican and Democratic nominees for President in 2008 will advocate a virtual abandonment of border security.

Don't believe it? Think about a President John McCain. He co-sponsored a bill last year to DOUBLE legal immigration. McCain SCORNS the defenders of America's borders. He HATES the border fence.

How about a President Sam Brownback? A good man, we all agree. But Brownback NEVER MET AN AMNESTY HE DIDN'T LIKE! He wants all illegal aliens to be made citizens.

So maybe you think Mitt Romney is better? Romney is WAFFLING on strong borders. He refused to support those persecuted Border Patrol agents who were recently sent to prison for wounding an illegal alien drug dealer.

When I'm President of the United States, the Illegal Alien Drug Dealers will go to prison for long sentences. Border Patrol Agents will be supported and valued!

(Would you like to receive MORE INFORMATION on my campaign? Click Here to see my website and get info.)

Do you want someone fighting in the Republican primaries who holds your views on the issues that matter most?

I'm sure you don't want amnesty supporters Rudy Guiliani or Chuck Hagel getting the nomination!

My friends, I've just about gone through the entire list of Republican candidates! Will the banner of immigration reform be waved? That depends on me getting your support.

My convictions don't change with the weather. I believe in strong borders, national security, and an end to immigration abuses. I am a Reagan-style Republican. I'm pro-life, pro-second amendment, and for LOWER federal spending.

Yes, I'm running for President, if you want me to. But I simply cannot run without financial resources. Yes, campaigns require money. I must raise that money to represent you in national media and to voters across the country.

(Please Click Here to go to my Secure Donation page and make your donation. I can only represent your views if I have your financial support.)

Please let me hear from you.

Sincerely,
Tom Tancredo

Bush said....

"Five years ago, we rose above partisan differences to pass the No Child Left Behind Act...And because we acted, students are performing better in reading and math, and minority students are closing the achievement gap. Now the task is to build on this success.... The No Child Left Behind Act has worked for America's children -- and I ask Congress to reauthorize this good law."

What Bush really wanted to say...

"Five years ago, we rose above partisan difference to pass the No Illegal Alien Left Behind Act...And because we acted, we have millions more lining up at the border to cross..."

Bush has the power RIGHT now to stop illegal immigration but fails to act. If President Dwight David Eisenhower could do it with 1/10th the manpower then this SOB in the White House could also do it, but he lacks the will because his backbone is owned by powerfull special interests that want to keep a low wage labor force.

Impeach Bush!

He has failed since 9/11 to even attempt to secure our borders. Sending National Guard paper shufflers with retreat orders to be observers at the border is a worthless attempt to appease the citizens. Bush has turned a deaf ear to pleas from citizens to act and has failed his oath of office. The only avenue left is to remove him and see if Dick Cheney will act where El Presidente Jorge has refused.

Impeach Bush!

Democrat or democratic?

Today on the El rushbo show he mentioned how some talking heads were saying that referring to the Democrat Party instead of the democratic party was a slur... HAW HAW HAW! I have been promoting this for the past two years here in the blogosphere and in various forums and am only now starting to see it gaining traction. It is true you know. They are the least democratic of any institution I can think of outside a true communist country such as the old Soviet Union. When the Soviet Union dissolved there was a massive collective sob from the Socialist Democrats. Another example of communism in action had gone down and they could no longer point to it as what they want the US to become.

Lets state this clearly:

They are DEMOCRATS

not DEMOCRATICS!

El Presidente Jorge Boosh and his State of the Union

...and here is the analysis by Roy Beck from NumbersUSA.com

AMBIGUITY IN DETAILS SUGGESTS BUSH FEARFUL OF THE PUBLIC & HIS PARTY ON IMMIGRATION

Citizen Friends,
  • In red below are the words of what the President actually said in his very short section on immigration.

  • In blue are quotes from the official White House details of what it calls "President Bush's Plan For Comprehensive Immigration Reform."

  • And in black, are my comments to try to make some sense of it all.

2007 STATE OF UNION
COMMENTS ON IMMIGRATION

"Extending hope and opportunity in our country requires an immigration system worthy of America — with laws that are fair and borders that are secure.

Compared to flights of sentimentalist immigration rhetoric in the past six State of the Union addresses, this was pretty pedestrian stuff, although it appears the hope and opportunity in this country are meant for immigrants rather than for citizens.

Fair laws? Based on the rest of his comments, I'm guessing he is thinking about laws that are "fair" to people wanting to get into the country rather than laws that are fair to Americans. But I could be wrong; his language is ambiguous. But my best bet is that he is talking about fairness to businesses that want to hire foreign labor.

"When laws and borders are routinely violated, this harms the interests of our country. To secure our border, we are doubling the size of the Border Patrol — and funding new infrastructure and technology.

The White House website offers six ways that this Administration has boosted enforcement along the border.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that suggests what the goal for a secure border should look like. All measures are on means and not results.

"The Administration is working closely with state and local law enforcement to stop illegal immigration. ICE has the resources to train 1,500 state and local enforcement officers under the 287(g) program in 2006 and 2007. DHS will work with its state and local partners to expand these programs, and received $50 million in 2006 supplemental funding for this effort. In addition, DHS is expanding to state and local law enforcement agenies the Criminal Alien Program (CAP) previously in place with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to identify illegal aliens who are incarcerated in federal, state and local jails."

That's right, the White House used the term "illegal aliens."

I'm very pleased to see the emphasis on the 287(g) program. NumbersUSA is a big promoter of it. We believe it is a great way for local and state governments to help create a rapid Attrition Through Enforcement & Self-Deportation in their areas. This is something you can push your local government to do without so much problem from the ACLU and illegal-alien supporters taking you to court.

Read about this 287(g) program at our special page on ways to act locally: http://www.numbersusa.com/hottopic/ordinances.html

The link is also in the right column of the Home page.

"Yet even with all these steps, we cannot fully secure the border unless we take pressure off the border — and that requires a temporary worker program.

This has been his non-sequiter argument for seven years: Illegal aliens come to America to take jobs to which they aren't legally entitled. To Bush, the only way to keep them from coming illegally is to let them have the jobs legally!

Of course, underlying such illogic is the lack of any understanding -- or empathy -- for the 25 million less-educated Americans of working age who don't have a job. This callousness toward Americans without jobs comes through on the White House website:

"There are many people on the other side of the border who will do anything to come to America to work and build a better life. The rule of law cannot permit unlawful employment of millions of undocumented workers in the United States. Many American businesses, however, depend on hiring willing foreign workers for jobs Americans are not doing."

"We should establish a legal and orderly path for foreign workers to enter our country to work on a temporary basis. As a result, they won’t have to try to sneak in — and that will leave border agents free to chase down drug smugglers, and criminals, and terrorists.

To the President, illegal aliens have no choice -- they "have" to try to sneak in. Again, this Administration's attitude is that the tens of millions of working-age Americans without a job have no interest in working. Thus, we should not allow the market to raise wages and working conditions until they attract American workers. Rather, any job that happens to be open and isn't snatched up immediately by an American should go to a foreign worker, in the President's logic.

The most frustrating part of the President's statement, though, is the assumption that we don't already have a legal and orderly path for foreign workers to come temporarily. In fact, we have many of those programs already. Some are unlimited in size.

Mr. Bush and his fellow open-borders supporters always make it sound like our country is shut tight as a drum. In fact, we have major guest workers programs. The reason that some are not used more is because employers don't want to pay the wages required.

One good point is that the White House does continue to insist that new guest workers (not people here already illegally) would have to be truly temporary:

"The program must be truly temporary. Participation should be for a limited period of time, and the guest workers must return home after their authorized period of stay. Those who fail to return home in accordance with the law should become permanently ineligible for a green card and for citizenship."

"We will enforce our immigration laws at the worksite, and give employers the tools to verify the legal status of their workers — so there is no excuse left for violating the law.

This was a great part of the speech. And it is backed up with some exciting details on the White House website:

"In a sharp break from the past, the Administration is addressing the illegal employment of undocumented workers with a tough combination for criminal prosecution and forfeitures. Previously, worksite enforcement relied on a combination of administrative hearings and fines. The fines were so modest that some employers treated them as merely a cost of doing business, and employment of undocumented workers continued unabated."

!!!!!!!!

You may want to re-read that one, it is so fascinating. What I read between the lines is this, "The Bush Administration had almost no enforcement against outlaw businesses for six years, but now we're getting tough."

When you are making your seventh State of the Union address and you talk about a "break with the past," you are talking about a break with what YOU have been doing.

But this is a great new policy, with some public signs it really is being done, although I want to see a lot more of it before I believe it is more than just a show in anticipation of the State of the Union.

But there is even more tough talk under the heading "We Must Hold Employers Accountable For The Workers They Hire:"

"Comprehensive Immigrationi Reform Must Include The Creation Of A New Tamper-Proof Identification Card For Every Legal Foreign Worker So Businesses Can Verify The Legal Status Of Their Employees. A tamper-proof card would help us enforce the law and leave employers with no excuse for violating it.

"We will also work with Congress to expand Basic Pilot -- an electronic employment eligibility verification system -- and mandate that all employers use this system."

Halelujah! NumbersUSA has always contended that the No. 1 action to reduce illegal immigration would be mandatory workplace verification of all new hires and of the existing workforce.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has fought this for more than a decade but now is going along with it. The problem is that the Chamber and the Bush Administration insist that it would be wrong to have mandatory verification if not accompanied by a giant guestworker program and citizenship for illegal aliens.

I hate to keep carping on this point, but illogic is the logic of the Bush Administration and all its amnesty allies.

Nonetheless, with so many major corporation spokesmen like the Chamber and the President facilely acknowledging that mandatory verification is necessary, we have more openings for trying to start the verification separate from any giant "comprehensive" legislation. This passed the House of Representatives in December of 2005. But the Senate last spring insisted on linking to an amnesty and doubling of legal immigration.

"DHS Has Issued A Proposed 'No-Match' Regulation To Assist Employers In ensuring A Legal Workplace And To Help The Government Identify And Crack Down On Employers Who Knowingly Hire Illegal Workers. In cases in which an employer has ten or more employees with inaccurate information, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sends the employer a 'No-Match' letter. DHS's proposed 'No-Match' regulation clarifies that employers may be held civilly and criminally liable when a letter is sent and employers ignore the discrepancies between SSA databases and the information provided about their employees."

I cannot at this hour tell you whether the proposed regulation handles all the problem details, but it is definitely on the right track of dealing with a major problem. Aggressive tactics on No-Match letters would dry up large numbers of jobs and accelerate Attrition Through Enforcement & Self-Deportation.

"We need to uphold the great tradition of the melting pot that welcomes and assimilates new arrivals. We need to resolve the status of the illegal immigrants who are already in our country — without animosity and without amnesty.

Oh, my!

To our President, the tradition of the melting pot apparently means we have to take away the stigma of illegality from those foreigners who have violated our laws to be here!

But here is the place in the speech where the President and his speechwriters obviously got cold feet. What is the term "resolve." Notice that he didn't dare use the terms "earned legalization" or "regularize" or "legalize."

But "resolve?" He is not talking about "resolving" the illegal alien problem. No, he wants to "resolve" their "status."

Now, you and I might want to resolve whether the person is an illegal alien, and once doing that, begin deportation proceedings. But I don't think that is what the President wants to resolve.

Again, the fundamental problem with Pres. Bush and his advisors is that they believe the problem with illegal aliens is their "status." If they just weren't illegal, they would be wonderful to have, according to them.

To NumbersUSA, the primary problem with illegal aliens is not that they are illegal but that they are here -- all 12 million of them crowding our infrastructures, congesting our quality of life, helping drive the destruction of natural habitat, farmland and open spaces, and driving down wages and benefits in the occupations where they settle. They aren't primarily bad people. But they are 12 million people who aren't supposed to be here. We don't need them. Their presence harms Americans.

But the President wants to "resolve" their status -- which I am sure means that he wants them to remain in our communities forever.

How about a little more illogic from the White House?

"Illegal immigration causes serious problems, putting pressure on public schools and hospitals and straining state and local budgets. People who have worked hard, supported their families, avoided crime, led responsible lives and become a part of American life should be called in out of the shadows and under the rule of American law."

You see, illegal aliens create terrible pressures -- until their status is "resolved." Miraculously once they are legalized, they supposedly no longer crowd schools and hospitals and no longer drain tax-payer supported services.

Hmmm, how does that happen? Well, in fact, it doesn't happen. Research by the Center for Immigration Studies has found that not only do legalized illegal aliens continue to impose all the same costs as before they were "resolved," but they impose even more costs on the taxpayers because as legal residents they are eligible for quite a number of additional public services.

To the White House and its open-borders allies, illegal aliens in the sunlight impose no costs. What makes them expensive is when they are in the "shadows."

But wait!

Pres. Bush says we are to resolve their status without amnesty. Maybe I misjudged him.

Oh, maybe not. Here's a White House website clarification about what is meant by "amnesty:"

"The President Supports A Rational Middle Ground Between A Program Of Mass Deportations And A Program Of Automatic Amnesty.

"No amnesty. Workers who have entered the country illegally and workers who have overstayed their visas must pay a substantial penalty for their illegal conduct."

Mr. Bush would also take the get-tough approach of making illegal aliens learn English and hold a job.

Oh, sorry, I'm getting sarcastic.

As others have commented, using a car thief analogy: Under Mr. Bush's concept it would be "amnesty" if a cop stopped a car thief and then just let him go.

But it would NOT be amnesty, according to the Bush logic, if you stopped a car thief, made him pay a ticket of a couple hundred dollars and then let him keep the car.

In fact, under the Bush logic, one of the requirements for getting to keep the car would be that you have to keep driving it. After all, an illegal alien who breaks the law to get an American job would only get to stay here if he keeps the job (and pays a fine and learns English).

"Convictions run deep in this Capitol when it comes to immigration. Let us have a serious, civil, and conclusive debate — so that you can pass, and I can sign, comprehensive immigration reform into law."

Serious and civil, but by all means let us not have a LOGICAL debate!

It may have been George Bush's 2007 State of the Union address but the logic and rhetoric were straight out of George Orwell's 1984 world of doublespeak.

Think about it. One section of the President's "comprehensive" plan is all about removing the job magnet from illegal aliens. Another is about helping local law enforcement identify and move into deportation proceeding illegal aliens in their communities.

Without using the words, a large part of Mr. Bush's plan is about Attrition Through Enforcement -- actions that will cause many more illegal aliens to buy their own bus and plane tickets and go home, and actions that will lead to a lot fewer new illegal aliens to arrive.

But the White House in the end totally ignores that as a solution. Instead, it says the only choice is between mass deportation of 12 million illegal aliens at once or "resolving" their status to permanent residency and path to citizenship.

Apparently, all the enforcement measures have nothing to do with an actual solution. Apparently, the enforcement measures are meant to keep jobs out of the hands of new illegal aliens but will have no effect on the 12 million already here.

CITIZEN FRIENDS,

You are the only force that can possibly break the hold that this illogic has on the Washington political establishment.

The combined power of your collective efforts has stopped George Bush from getting his non-amnesty amnesty for six years now.

But for the first time, he has a Congress controlled by Democratic leaders whose desire for high immigration is even more radical and illogical than his.

It will take every effort we have to protect the country for yet another year.

The Union is in a state of illogical chaos on immigration.

Hillary's in along with Osama...er...Obama

In the past Hillary has said that "it takes a village to raise our children". I wonder if she is still concerned for "the children"?

Our "village" is being inundated with uninvited invaders. Services that our "village" provides for our children are being used up and abused by these invaders who are acting as if they are entitled to them. The invaders have crossed our borders illegally. They have taken jobs using stolen identity information, including in some cases, identity information of our children. Employers are knowingly employing these invaders in violation of current laws, or are turning a blind eye to investigating the legal status after being informed that social security numbers do not match. The jobs taken by invaders are used as an excuse by employers to lower wage scales for citizens which takes food and services away from "the children". Another way that some employers are skirting the law is by using short term temps from temp agencies that specialize in day laborers and short term employment. This allows the employers to get away from paying a decent living wage to the parents of "the children".

If the scenario above is allowed to play out, our children will be squeezed out by the invading hoard who've come here to breed like cockroaches.

Our children are being squeezed out NOW. Services are being tailored to the invaders. We do not have enough to go around. It is a zero sum game. Any services provided to the invaders are services not available to our children.

What say you, Hillary? Are you champion for "the children", children of citizens, or are you siding with the invading hoard?

Senator Mel Martinez (R-Fl) who is likely the new RNC chairman:

Florida Sen. Mel Martinez will almost certainly be elected today as the
new Republican National Committee chairman, but the vote will be far
from unanimous. RNC members from Texas, South Carolina and perhaps other
states plan to cast ballots against him.

One of the dissenters, Texas Rep. Denise McNamara, makes plain that the
reason for her rebellion is the president's stand on immigration.
"Choosing an RNC chairman who supports amnesty [for illegal aliens] is
tantamount to telling the conservative majority of Americans that they
do not matter," she told the Washington Times.

Mr. Martinez is a protégé of President Bush and White House aide
Karl Rove, who picked him from near obscurity to serve as Mr. Bush's
first HUD secretary and later to run for an open Florida Senate seat.
Last year, the president surprised many by picking him to replace
outgoing RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman in order to put a pro-immigration face
on the Republican Party.

Grassroots activists have vented their frustration on the Internet and
in conservative publications like Human Events, saying voters didn't
endorse an "amnesty" for illegal aliens in the Midterm elections. But
Messrs. Bush and Rove are clearly worried that the fallout from last
year's immigration battles, including defeat of the White House's
guest-worker proposals, will result in Hispanic voters abandoning the
Republican Party.

Hispanics are the fastest growing minority in America. Lesson: In the
future, the White House is unlikely to be reachable for the GOP unless
it can command a sizeable allegiance among voters of Latin descent.

Fastest growing because Hispanics are flowing across the borders in
droves, avoiding detection while the "pro-amnesty" crowd wishes to
provide a "free pass" to citizenship. The Bush policy is strictly a
political one, pushing aside law enforcement and the rule of law for
everyone.

An interesting web site

Check out this web site:

D.C.'s Political Report

It has a listing of candidates across the whole spectrum with links to web sites. It might be worth while to bookmark it.

Some Mitt Romney news...

I was just checking the NRA web site. Mitt Romney is shifting from strong anti-gun to an unknown position toward the center. The Boston Globe web site says that Mitt has even joined the NRA... hmm it's newest member. I wonder how many other positions Mitt is changing just to get elected? This is a candidate that will bear some CLOSE scrutiny!

Amazing what politicians will do and say to get elected. I wonder if he will make any changes on his position favoring guest workers on massive numbers. He has not said in public what he would do with the millions of members of the Rio Grande Synchronized Wading Team.

A little bit o' Irish humor

Never let it be said that the Irish dont enjoy a bit of humor, even at their own expense...

Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, "Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey" Miraculously, a parking place appeared. Paddy looked up again and said, "Never mind, I found one."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Father Murphy walks into a pub in Donegal, and says to the first man
he meets, "Do you want to go to heaven?" The man said, "I do Father."
The priest said, "Then stand over there against the wall."
Then the priest asked the second man, "Do you want to go to heaven?"
Certainly, Father," was the man's reply. "Then stand over there against the wall," said the priest.
Then Father Murphy walked up to O'Toole and said, "Do you want to go
to heaven? O'Toole said, "No, I don't Father.
The priest said, "I don't believe this. You mean to tell me that when you die you don't want to go to heaven?"
O'Toole said, "Oh, when I die, yes. I thought you were getting a group together to go right now."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Paddy was in New York He was patiently waiting, and watching the traffic cop on a busy street crossing. The cop stopped the flow of traffic and shouted, "Okay pedestrians".

Then he'd allow the traffic to pass. He'd done this several times, and Paddy still stood on the sidewalk. After the cop had shouted "Pedestrians" for the tenth time, Paddy went over to him and said, "Is it not about time ye let the

Catholics across?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gallagher opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend Finney. Did you see the paper?" asked Gallagher. "They say I died!!"
Yes, I saw it!" replied Finney. "Where are ye callin' from?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An Irish priest is driving down to New York and gets stopped for speeding in Connecticut. The state trooper smells alcohol on the priest's breath and then sees an empty wine bottle on the floor of the car. He says, "Sir, have you been drinking?"

Just water," says the priest. The trooper says, "Then why do I smell wine?"

The priest looks at the bottle and says, "Good Lord! He's done it again!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking into the bar, Mike said to Charlie the bartender, "Pour me a stiff one - just had another fight with the little woman."
"Oh yeah?" said Charlie "And how did this one end?"
"When it was over," Mike replied, "she came to me on her hands and knees.
"Really," said Charles, "now that's a switch! What did she say?"
She said, "Come out from under the bed, you little chicken."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Flynn staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Paddy. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Mary.

He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump.

A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful. Managing not to yell, Flynn sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the hall mirror to see that his butt cheeks were cut and bleeding. He managed to quietly find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a Band-Aid as best he could on each place he saw blood. He then hid the now almost empty Band-Aid box and shuffled and stumbled his way to bed.

In the morning, Flynn woke up with searing pain in both his head and butt and Mary staring at him from across the room.

She said, "You were drunk again last night weren't you?"

Flynn said, "Why do you say such a mean thing? "

Well," Mary said, "it could be the open front door, it could be the broken glass at the bottom of the stairs, it could be the drops of blood trailing through the house, it could be your bloodshot eyes, but mostly.....it's all those Band-Aids stuck on the hall mirror.........

2007, The First 100 Hours of the Democrat reign of terror...

After all the bullshit, bluster, and election year grandstanding, promises, and pronouncements from the Dems about how they would hit the ground running because they were so desperate to right the wrongs and ills visited upon them by Georgie The Compassionate Conservative, all we see so far from them is hot air and bullshit. Any astute observer will note that all the Dems had to run on was 12 years of anger over loss of political control of important committees. The partying must still be going on. Do they have to get past the hangovers before they start attacking constitutional rights once again? The first and second amendments are prime targets and John McCain (The Arizona RINO and lone Keating 5 survivor) will be right there to assist the Dems in their quest to dilute or remove these constitutional protections of citizen rights.

When the attacks begin, they will come on many fronts assisted by the Dem legal arm, the American Communist Liberty Union (aka ACLU) and the pet liberal judges of the 9th federal circus. Any legislation that fails in congress can be quickly enacted by judicial fiat, finalized by a swing of the gavel.

Global warming? Ya sure!

Where is global warming when I want my little piece of it here in Michigan? Texas and California could use some along with people in dozens of other states hard hit by ice and snow storms.

new antenna (to me)

Folded dipoles have been around a while but I have never used one before. I was looking for antennas that are wide band and was going to build a coaxial double bazooka type for wide band width on a single band when I stumbled across the B&W folded dipole. They advertize that their 90 foot version will cover 1.8 to 30 mhz with 2:1 swr or less.

Hmmm The magic has to be in that termination (or whatever it is) that is in the middle of the top half of the folded dipole. I have seen folded dipoles using 300 ohm tv wire that were only single band and even then not particularly broad band.

I wonder if that is some sort of non-inductive high power terminating resistor? They use a balun at the feed point to connect RG8 or other 50 ohm coax direct to it and it is opposite the termination.

Supposedly the military, embassies, and other government groups use these antennas with frequency agile radios all over the world all the time. Time for me to take a closer look. An antenna that I do not have to tweek a tuner with a freq change sounds like one I want to try with my Tentec Jupiter no-tune-up radio. This is supposed to be a quieter antenna than a standard dipole too, less static and such.

24 and the nuke

They exploded a nuke on the tv show 24 and people are worried that it is a ploy to prop up Bush. (???)

If a nuke goes off here, Bush should be brought up immediately on charges of treason and put up against a wall without the blindfold. Or maybe Iraq will allow us to use the same noose for Georgie that was used by Saddam?

He has left us totally open to a real life scenario like this by his refusal to secure our borders. The paper shufflers that were placed at the border as a sop to patriotic citizens have been ordered to retreat when attacked. Bush is a TRAITOR and has reneged on his oath of office.

The only persons being inconvenienced by Bush are citizens who will have to obtain passports to travel while illegals can come and go freely.

Another group that is even more inconvenienced and even wronged are the LEGAL immigrants that have come here and those seeking legal immigrant status who are waiting for their papers.

IMPEACH BUSH NOW! BORDER SECURITY IS HOMELAND SECURITY! One more day of open borders is another day and thousands-more-illegals too many!

[update] The Bush insistance on his department of Homeland Security, warrantless wiretaps and mail searches is beginning to look like he is setting up a US version of the KGB. Am I being too paranoid? Am I paranoid enough? What have I to be paranoid about? Actually nothing other than being a concerned citizen, a military veteran, and patriot. Bush appears to be a politician who is bent on building a legacy for himself on the backs of the citizens of the US. Makes ya wonder if he wants to be Emperor Bush???

[update] Do a blog search to see what is out there on becoming an illegal alien to get in on the super citizen priveleges that Bush and cronies want to bestow on illegal aliens. It means giving up citizenship but you get it back with some major enhancements if you can accomplish it. ha ha ha! ;)

It really is time to impeach the bastard before he can legalize tens of millions of illegals and water down what is left of the Social Security funds. This is NOT a Republican v Democrat issue except in La-La land. Out here in flyover country, every citizen is affected. We have to pay for his grand giveaway scheme.

I am a very angry citizen and voter!

RINOs and moderates are not the solution!

At this point in time we dont need a Ronald Reagan. We need a Theodore Roosevelt or General Eisenhower.

>>NO<< John McCain is no Teddy Roosevelt or Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower!!! McCain is far too mentally unstable.

[update: Last night El Presidente Jorge Boosh gave his state of the border speech and I was not impressed. Check message 309 (up nine from this one) for commentary from Roy Beck of NumbersUSA.com. He says it so well that I don't need to insert a penny's worth to it.]

Open Borders or Anti-Borders?

"We most heavily add to our nation.... those that first break laws, fake their resumes, pay bribes, evade their taxes, communicate poorly, have few legitimate skills and disrespect our culture. For people such as these, our borders are open, and amnesty is a civil right."

What's Worse Than Open Borders?

by Mac Johnson

Posted Jan 10, 2007

Look around you...

When the U.S. is trespassed upon at will by 15 million to 30 million illegal aliens, our border troops are under orders to flee from their posts if attacked, and the only thing upon which President Bush and Speaker Nancy Pelosi agree is the need for amnesty for brazen masses of immigration criminals, it would be easy to say that America has a de facto policy of open borders.

But upon reflection, it must be admitted that our current corruption is worse than open borders. [continue reading]

Timeline 2007 (run-up to the election in 2008)

It is now in the front half of January 2007 and I am waiting to see if the Dems are going to follow through on their plan to start impeachment of El Presidente Jorge the Panderer. How about it, Congressman Conyers? If they really need a charge to bring against him they can use the fact that he has left the borders completely open in violation of his oath of affice. This is a homeland security issue. The Dems want to use Iraq as the issue, but I am not sure the people will allow it. The fact that Dems also want open borders will not matter because impeachment is political, not a legal procedure. At the grassroots level, conservatives are rooting for a method to remove Bush. Cheney could be the next president.

If impeachment does not get moving soon, I predict that there will be a new Amnesty package flowing out of the senate with the same or worse provisions that S.2611 had. The house should be no problem unless the Blue Dog Conservative Dems that were elected this past midterm election kick up a fuss. The AFL-CIO will make public noises against it while the leadership privately cheers it on as they have all along. The only thing that will change this is if union members real kick a fuss over illegals and "guest workers" (aka legalized illegals via amnesty). The members are beginning to recognize that illegals and imported "green card" aliens are taking jobs that US citizens WILL do. They are being used to reduce the wage base while displacing citizens at good paying jobs.

Bipartisanship (Republicans giving Democrats everything they want) will be the name of the game!

We will have MANY centrist moderate Republicans (Giuliani, Romney, et al) along with a host of senate RINOs looking for the Republican nomination. Conservatives will ignore all of them looking for a true conservative candidate. Tancredo is waiting to be drafted. Cox in Illinois is a dark horse but may be the one. Newt Gingrich is popular with conservatives. His infidelity problem that caused his resignation may still be a problem with the Christian conservative coalition. If he had been a Democrat, philandering would have been a definite plus. Eeney meeny miney mo...

Conservatives are looking for someone to introduce a NEW "Contract With America".

The MSM will continue its efforts to force feed McCain to the public as half of its dream ticket.

The timeline is a little fuzzy!

###

Over at the FullosseousFlaps Dental blog... I just found out that he isn't conservative. He has stacked a poll with moderates only and Flap is rooting for Rudy. On that poll among moderates, Mitt Romney is beating Giuliani. Mitt is going to have to come around a little more conservative on the immigration issue if he wants my vote!

Why is it so hard for these "good" Americans to understand that illegal aliens are not the brand of immigrant we are seeking?

Why are these "good" Americans trying to turn the USA into a welfare state?

A large number of the illegal aliens they so generously want to give citizenship come here only for the services we provide to citizens.

Citizens of the US are generous but we are not a world welfare agency.

Michigan Supreme Court hiding behind an iron curtain of secrecy?

I was reading through my email and ran across this... a group of four Michigan Supreme Court justices including the chief justice has issued a gag order on court proceedings. I am not a law scholar but it seems to me that when someone tries to hide information when there is no national security or other sensitive cause, then there is reason for alarm. I thought that judges were required to make their opinions or dissents in written form.

Sniping on Michigan high court draws national attention

1/12/2007, 4:29 p.m. ET

By DAVID EGGERT

The Associated Press

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The idea that black-robed judges are symbols of decorum and civility seems farfetched in Michigan, where sniping among Supreme Court justices has escalated so much it's drawing national attention.

Justice Elizabeth Weaver, an outspoken 65-year-old Republican who has served on the court for more than a decade, issued a scathing memorandum last week alleging that re-elected Chief Justice Clifford Taylor and three other Republican justices have abused their power.

Could the AFL-CIO be waking up on illegal immigration

from VDare.com...

Could the AFL-CIO be waking up on Immigration?

As Congress (unfortunately) reconvenes there has been a predictable procession of log-rolling stories in the MSM trying to create a bandwagon effect to support a new version of last year’s Kennedy-Bush Amnesty/Immigration Acceleration Bill. The standard tactic is to claim that victory is in the bag because of collusion between the White House, Senate Republicans and the Democratic leadership. And indeed, if the matter was entirely left to these elements, it might well be, even if the Democratic delegations as a whole are less certain.

But a new pothole may be developing on the road: the AFL-CIO. A commendably alert piece of reporting (Democrats’ ties to labor could complicate immigration reform - By Dave Montgomery The Mercury-News Sunday January 7 2007) relates that the disastrous guest worker concept in particular is in trouble:

the AFL-CIO is better positioned to confront a powerful coalition of business groups that is pressing for a temporary worker program to bring in thousands of foreign workers each year… AFL-CIO officials say the program is designed to give business a steady source of cheap labor and would take jobs from U.S. citizens.
“We don’t believe our elected representatives are ready to adopt legislation that creates paths for corporations to import workers (and) reduce working standards in the United States,” said Ana Avendando, associate general counsel for the AFL-CIO. “That’s exactly what guest worker programs are.

(VDARE.com emphasis)

From the point of view of the American unionized worker, the current managing bureaucracy at the AFL-CIO, which has been in place a long time, should all be fired. They have stood by virtually silent while Washington, bought by employer interests, has launched the most brutal attack on the living standards of their members and workers in this country generally since the Great Depression. That has been the effect of the failure to stem the influx of low-skilled labor since the 90s. It is all documented in Ed Rubenstein’s VDARE.com archive. Any union officer not familiar with this data needs different employment.

Some Union leaders, indeed, have abandoned their constituents, seeking a new “electorate” amongst the newcomers. This is a direct betrayal of the Gompers tradition.

But Union bureaucrats, at the end of the day, are, like Congressman and Senators, politicians needing re-election. Indeed, they may be more responsive to their members whose numbers and income level affects their life style directly. Up till recently, most AFL-CIO comment on the debate has been simplistic support of the Democratic national leadership, with some distressing signs of excessive influence by ethnic lobbies. Now, perhaps, the Grass Roots are having some input (see, for instance, this sensible piece from their website on importing nurses).

The AFL-CIO website is notably reticent about contact details. However, Union members in particular amongst VDARE.COM readers (we know there are a lot) should invest a few minutes in sending the AFL-CIO their views. Applaud the essay on Nurse importation, and ask for more.

[ed: I spent 31 years in a union. The leadership was solidly of the yellow dog Democrat persuasion and followed the party line. When the party yelled jump, the union bosses asked how high. They were not totally successfull in getting the membership to make the jump though there were enough that they kept control. There were not enough of us to be effective in making changes from within. I wonder if the members will allow their unions to stay in thrall to the cabal that wants to import millions of low wage workers to displace them and other workers. If the low wage aliens displace workers in non-union jobs, the unionized workers will still be adversely affected. If they can not see this then they deserve to lose their jobs. I think that finally Debbie Stabenow is getting this message, but Karl Levin does not. To make any changes in Big Union, the members are going to have to throw out the entrenched hard left leaders who want illegals and "guest workers" at any cost. Once a change in union leaders has been made, it will ripple upward to elected Democrat legislators.]

Granholm Tax Increase a near certainty

When a politician wants to increase taxes but duck the responsibility, how does she do it?

Appoint a TAX COMMISSION!

It will be composed of politicians known to love taxes as a solution to every ailment of state government. Don't believe me? Remember "Jimmy Boy" Blanchard and his retroactive tax increase. I sure do because when it was passed, I had a WHOLE PAYCHECK dissapear to pay his taxes that were deducted lump sum to January of that year. I am no friend of tax and spenders like Blanchard. They will not cut or freeze spending, so the only other solution to them is to increase taxes.

===

Here is an article from the Detroit News...

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070112/OPINION01/701120339/1008

Spineless governor buys cover for raising taxes

The Detroit News

f there was any doubt that Gov. Jennifer Granholm intends to raise taxes on Michigan residents, it disappeared when she appointed a commission of tax sympathizers to solve the state's budget mess.

Former Govs. William Milliken, a Republican, and Jim Blanchard, a Democrat, will head the Emergency Financial Advisory Panel, made up mostly of former politicians and bureaucrats, nearly all of whom have expressed sympathy in the past for higher taxes.

We would have bet the farm -- if we could have found a taker -- that once she no longer had to worry about being re-elected, the governor would rush to raise taxes.

We also would have bet that she wouldn't have the guts to make the decision herself.

So she's appointed a panel that is sure to come up with the answer she wants, affirming once again that this governor lacks any trace of courage, doesn't have an innovative idea in her head and is a far better campaigner than she is an executive.

Michigan is on its back. Jobs are leaving. Residents are leaving. Anyone with an ounce of economic savvy knows that this is the worst time for a tax hike.

Higher taxes would make things worse for everyone in Michigan, except for the governor, who would avoid having to make the tough choices and coming up with the bold ideas she's promised in two election campaigns but hasn't delivered.

Appointing Milliken and Blanchard is laughable. Both ex-governors confronted budget problems and both solved them with tax hikes, among other moves. On Milliken's watch in the 1970s, once the state ran out of accounting gimmicks, he turned to a temporary increase in the income tax.

Blanchard convened a commission early in his tenure in 1983, which suggested a tax hike. He pushed a 38 percent hike in the state income tax rate through a Democratic Legislature. As a result, more than a dozen recalls against lawmakers were started, some resigned, and two lost recall elections, turning the state Senate over to the Republicans. [ed: remember that retroactive tax increase I mentioned?]

Most of the other panel members are on record as favoring tax hikes over further spending cuts.

If Granholm wanted real solutions, she would have drafted for her panel business leaders with experience in matching spending with revenue.

But she wants a tax hike, and it will now be up to new Senate Republican Majority Leader Mike Bishop of Rochester to hold his caucus in line and thwart higher taxes. The pressure to cave will be enormous, and the governor will dangle sweeteners before the GOP senators.

But Michigan is already a dying state. It will not recover with a formula of high taxes and low growth.

Nor does the state have much chance when it's led by a governor who hides behind commissions whenever a tough decision is required.

===

Who are the commission members?

Gov. Jennifer Granholm chose former Govs. William Milliken, a Republican, and James Blanchard, a Democrat, to chair a panel to recommend how to balance the state budget.

Among the commission members are:

John Porter, former state superintendent for public instruction

Paul Hillegonds, senior vice president of DTE Energy and former Republican state House co-speaker

Dan DeGrow, superintendent of St. Clair County Regional Educational Service Agency and former Republican state Senate majority leader

Sr. Monica Kostielney, president and chief executive of the Michigan Catholic Conference

Lou Anna Simon, Michigan State University president

Frank Kelley, ex-Democratic state attorney general

S. Martin Taylor, Democratic U-M regent

Joe Schwarz, ex-GOP congressman

[ed: It is also noteworthy that some of these commission members are former Michigan state legislators who participated in the early collection scheme of county taxes, winter-to-summer that is finalized this year too. As of the summer tax bills in 2007 all of the county tax that used to be collected in the winter tax bill has been shifted to the summer tax bill, SIX MONTHS EARLY! This happened on the Granholm watch and was signed by her and is a PERMANENT early collection of taxes that now come due in the summer instead of the winter taxes due six months later.]

Candidate Mitt Romney on immigration

Immigration has been an important part of our nation's success.

Governor Romney: "We need to make America more attractive for legal immigrants -- for citizens -- and less attractive for illegal immigrants. I want to see more immigration in our country, but more legal immigration and less illegal immigration."

It looks like Governor Romney has been away from working people too long. He has spent too much time as governor of one of our East Coast Peoples Socialist Republics. He wants "more immigration" which is his poltico speak for "guest worker". I wonder if Mitt has a plan to convert 20 million illegal alien criminals into guest workers and then citizens along with wives, children, parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, shoestring relatives???

Sorry Guv, you are still not the right candidate for me. Immigration HAS been an important part of our nations success but so has a respect for the law. When you pander to law breakers you are telling them that we will just look the other way and reward them for their illegal acts. PLEASE do not try to fly that $2000 price tag for citizenship past us like McCain, Frist, Hagel, Brownback, Martinez, and a gaggle of the senate RINOs. Your sympathies are for the wrong people and they can not yet vote for you. Maybe by 2008, with the aid of the socialists in congress and El Presidente "It's not practical" Jorge Boosh (if he hasn't been impeached).

We are in the midst of a massive invasion of illegal aliens from the south and we need to repel those currently crossing and remove those who are already here. If they want to come here, let them do it the old fashioned LEGAL way as MILLIONS of other immigrants have done. My paternal great grandparents and grandfather immigrated from Ireland LEGALLY. The maternal side of my family goes even farther back, several generations of greats to Germany.

Here is the law as pertains to illegals:

United States Code, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter II, Part VIII, Section 1325, states:

Any alien who enters the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be fined or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

How about it, Mitt. are you willing to actually UPHOLD the law? Our current president, Jorge, is completely unwilling and is in violation of his oath of office. IMPEACH GEORGE BUSH

AC-130U gunship in Iraq

With a weapon system like this against them, the enemy must have a very high pucker factor. The targeting is done with infrared and you can see them moving around on the ground until.... BOOOOOOM!

Here is a link to an AC-130U video on Youtube...
AC-130U

This would be a dandy border patrol vehicle! It would make the illegals start crossing in daylight when they could be spotted easier. It might make the Mexican Army and the coyotes think twice about crossing over and supporting illegals. Our law enforcement officials have already had run ins with the Mexican army.

I had to leave for work before problems were resolved so I just got the server back online. It is now after midnight...

Double DAMN!

Looks like everything is working again. Lets see...

update:

My ISP was working on some equipment that knocked me offline for a while. I was not able to put the site back up until I got home from work.

Looks like everything is back to "normal" now.

Weekend chuckle... (political)

Bill Clinton started jogging near his new home in Chappaqua.

On each run, he happened to jog past a hooker standing on the same street corner, day after day.

With some apprehension he would brace himself as he approached her for what was most certainly to follow.

"Fifty dollars!" she would shout from the curb.

"No. Five dollars!" fired back Clinton.

This ritual between Bill and the hooker continued for days.

He'd run by and she'd yell, "Fifty dollars!" And he'd yell back, "Five dollars!"

One day however, Hillary decided that she wanted to accompany her husband on his jog.

As they neared the street corner, Bill knew the "pro" would bark her $50 of fee and Hillary would wonder what he'd really been doing on all his past outings. He needed a darn good explanation for his junior Senator.

As they jogged into the turn at the corner, Bill became even more apprehensive than usual.

Sure enough, there was the hooker. Bill tried to avoid the prostitute's eyes as she watched the pair jog past.

Then, from the sidewalk, the hooker yelled, "See what you get for five bucks?"

Amnesty for Illegals, Social Security, and Urban Legends

Amnesty for Illegals, Social Security, and Urban Legends

I have heard that certain factions are trying to pass off information about the senate vote for social security for illegal aliens as an urban legend (???).

They lie... (another of the Democrat BIG LIES?)

Whoa dudes! I have the official US Senate roll call vote link and it most certainly is NOT an urban legend. I have a web page that provides all the necessary information and links.

The web page is called Amnesty Votes .

Here is a link to the page:

When you get to the US Senate roll call page, book mark it and save it for your own future reference.

Social security for illegals is no urban legend. In fact, the Bush administration has already made an agreement with Mexico on sending social security funds to mexico for illegals who have used stolen SS numbers and are ready to collect on their ill gotten funds.
That is the topic of another article on this blog.

Klansman third in line to succeed to the presidency

Robert Byrd Third in Line for Presidency

The elevation of Robert Byrd as President Pro Tempore of the Senate on Thursday makes an 89-year-old former Klansman third in the line of presidential succession.

Only Vice President Dick Cheney and new House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stand between the West Virginia Democrat and the White House if President Bush does not finish his term.

Byrd was first elected to the Senate in 1958 and is the longest-serving member of the Senate in history. He won his ninth term in 2006 and is now the oldest member of the U.S. Congress.

He also served six years in the House. If he is still serving at the end of 2009, he will surpass the record of Sen. Carl Hayden, D-Ariz., who was in the House and Senate for nearly 57 years.

Byrd joined the Klu Klux Klan at age 24 and was elected Exalted Cyclops of his local chapter.

U.S.-Mexico Pact Revealed: Social Security Billions to Non-citizens

U.S.-Mexico Pact Revealed: Billions to Non-citizens

Dave Eberhart

Friday, Jan. 5, 2007

WASHINGTON -- As a result of lawsuits, the U.S. government released this week the actual U.S.-Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement, an understanding signed between the Bush administration and the Mexican government in 2004 that would funnel billions of U.S. Social Security funds to Mexican citizens.

TREA Senior Citizens League, a Washington-based nonpartisan seniors group, announced this week that after Freedom of Information Act lawsuits it filed against the government, it had received the secret agreement document.

Brad Phillips, a spokesperson for TREA, told NewsMax that the language in the agreement "raises more questions than it answers — such as what is the cost and who is going to pay."

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has already warned that as a result of this agreement, the number of unauthorized Mexican workers and family members eligible for social security benefits will likely increase.

...and here is the article from TREA:

Social Security Agreement with Mexico Released After 3-1/2 Year Freedom of Information Act Battle

Illegal Mexican Workers Could Receive Billions of Dollars from U.S. Social Security System

January 4, 2007 (Washington, DC) – After numerous refusals over three and a half years, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has released the first known public copy of the U.S.-Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement. The government made the disclosure in response to lawsuits filed under the Freedom of Information Act by TREA Senior Citizens League, a 1.2 million member nonpartisan seniors advocacy group.

The Totalization Agreement could allow millions of illegal Mexican workers to draw billions of dollars from the U.S. Social Security Trust Fund.

A loophole in current Social Security law could allow millions of today's Mexican workers to eventually collect billions of dollars worth of Social Security benefits for earnings under fraudulent or "non-work authorized" Social Security numbers, putting huge new pressures on the Social Security Trust Fund.

If an illegal worker working in the United States today gets a "work authorized" Social Security number through guest worker immigration legislation, the Totalization Agreement, or perhaps just over time, that worker could eventually apply for Social Security benefits once he or she has met eligibility requirements.

In addition, that worker could be able to claim credits for work performed while in the U.S. illegally. The SSA maintains an "earnings suspense file," which tracks wages that cannot be posted to individual workers' records because there is no match for a name and Social Security number. Once an immigrant gains access to a work authorized Social Security number – whether a legal citizen or not – wages earned while in the U.S. unlawfully could be reinstated to the worker's new Social Security account.

The Congressional Research Service reports the earnings suspense file currently stands at approximately $520 billion. According to the congressional testimony of SSA Inspector General Patrick P. O'Carroll in February 2006, "We believe the chief cause of wage items being posted to the earnings suspense file instead of an individual's earning record is unauthorized work by non citizens."

The agreement between the U.S. and Mexico was signed in June 2004, and is awaiting President Bush's signature. Once President Bush approves the agreement, which would be done without Congressional vote, either House of Congress would have 60 days to disapprove the agreement by voting to reject it.

"The Social Security Administration itself warns that Social Security is within decades of bankruptcy – yet, they seem to have no problem making agreements that hasten its demise," said Ralph McCutchen, Chairman of the TREA Senior Citizens League. "Our 1.2 million elderly members didn't sacrifice through difficult times so we could fund millions of workers who crossed the border and decided to work here illegally."

The U.S. currently has 21 similar agreements in effect with other nations, which are intended to eliminate dual taxation for persons who work outside their country of origin. All of the agreements are with developed nations with economies similar to that of the U.S.

For example, a worker who turns 62 after 1990 generally needs 40 calendar quarters of coverage to receive retirement benefits. Under totalization agreements, workers are allowed to combine earnings from both countries in order to qualify for benefits. The Agreement with Mexico, like other totalization agreements, would allow workers to qualify with just six quarters, or 18 months, of U.S. coverage.

But Mexico's retirement system is radically different than that of other participating countries. For example, only 40 percent of non-government workers participate in Mexico's system, whereas 96 percent of America's non-government workers do. In addition, the U.S. system is progressive, meaning lower wage earners get back much more than they put in; in Mexico, workers get back only what they put in, plus accrued interest.

"I applaud the persistent efforts of TREA Senior Citizens League to try to get documents from the U.S. Government about the U.S.-Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement," said Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.). "The American people are finally beginning to get some of the information regarding this Agreement that they have been seeking for so long."

According to the Social Security Administration, the Social Security Trust Fund will begin paying out more than it is taking in by 2017, and will be exhausted by the year 2040.

The Senate closed door meeting

I just heard that the senators held a closed door meeting after which they announced a new, closer, cooperation and bipartisan relationship.

Translation: Bipartisan means that Republicans MUST agree with Democrats as the reverse can never be true.

For their part of the bargain, the RINOs have agreed to amend their Republican party membership cards to say Republican/Democrat (Republicrat), and have all agreed to take seats in the senate chamber where they can reach out and hold the hand of a Democrat for moral support and advice during roll call votes. They also agree to make public speeches sounding Republican but make changes to the speeches using "Revise and Extend" to be bipartisan with their Democrat advisors. Now we will have to read the record to see what they REALLY mean.

Fortunately for liberals, the Iraqis executed Saddam Hussein the exact same week that former President Ford died, so it didn't seem strange that Nancy Pelosi's flag was at half-staff. Also, Saddam's death made it less of a snub when Harry Reid skipped Ford's funeral.

The passing of Gerald Ford should remind Americans that Democrats are always lying in wait, ready to force a humiliating defeat on America.

Democrat, Republican, or Southerner?

Here is a littel humor I received in email... enjoy!

Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.

Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a Glock caliber 40, and you are an expert shot.

You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

.................................................................

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

What does my wife think?

What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

................................................................

Republican's Answer:

BANG!

.................................................................

Southerners Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click.....

(Sounds of reloading)

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click

Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?"

Son: "Can I shoot the next one!"

Wife: "You ain't taking that to the Taxidermist!"

Even CNN agrees... "Where's Obama?"

Obama, Osama, what the difference? He is just another socialist Democrat trying to sneek in under cover of being an unknown and is part of the new Democrat promotion of Islamofascism as their new road to power. They have ended their mourning period for the fall of the old Soviet Union and can not understand Chinese communism, so have turned to Islamofascism as their new direction because of the large number of members in the world of the "Religion of Peace". They dont understand it and figure no one else will either. The Democrat strategy is to sneek in a few muslims to the legislature and make a gradual takeover while banning and denying all things Christian.

CNN Apologizes for 'Where's Obama?' Gaffe

CNN apologized Tuesday for mistakenly promoting a story on the search for Obama bin Laden with the headline "Where's Obama?" A spokesman for Illinois Sen. Barack "Osama" Obama said the apology was accepted.

The blunder came Monday evening on Wolf Blitzer's news show "The Situation Room." Both Soledad O'Brien and Blitzer offered separate apologies during CNN's morning show Tuesday.

CNN called it a "bad typographical error" by its graphics department. [Someone was thinking 'Arby' ]

"We want to apologize for that bad typo," Blitzer said. "We also want to apologize personally to Sen. Barack "Osama" Obama. I'm going to be making a call to him later this morning to offer my personal apology."

Tommy Vieto, "Osama" Obama's press secretary, said he appreciated the bloggers and activists who brought the error to light so quickly and helped make sure it was corrected.

Yupper... they sure is quick to forgive and sweep it up when the insult comes from their own side, they sure is! yup, yup, yup....

Oooohhhh. Gawd. I hope no one was watching that segment when we broadcast "Looking for Obama"... maybe we got lucky?

Looks like Teddy Kennedy wasn't the only Democrat lush that thinks he is Osama Obama [behind his back].

Pat Robertson: Major Terrorist Attack in 2007

In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Tuesday that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in "mass killing” late in 2007.

"I’m not necessarily saying it’s going to be nuclear,” he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network. "The Lord didn’t say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.”

Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September. More...

Gerald Ford Funeral

I have been watching the funeral at the National Cathedral and it was beautiful.

As I write this, the motorcade has just arrived at Andrews Air Force Base to bring the casket to Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Kent County Honor Guard of the combined veterans service organizations will be lining the Michigan Street/Bridge Street bridge, the route to the Gerald Ford Museum, to salute our president as his transport hearse drives by. The final motorcade from Kent County International Airport will be in approximately 2 hours.

Pelosi Set to Attack Conservatives

Leading Capitol Hill watchdogs are sounding alarms by plans of the soon-to-be Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and her majority of House Democrats to ram through a new law that would seriously undermine free speech – and put restrictions on conservative groups and others who encourage ordinary citizens to directly deal with Congress.

Pelosi has already stated she is planning to push through major legislation during the first 100 session hours after the Democrats take control of Congress this week.

At the top of the list is seemingly good legislation intended to curb the power of lobbyists. But the Pelosi law goes far beyond bridling Washington influence peddlers. Under her proposed legislation, Pelosi will seek to control and limit any organization in America from encouraging citizens to communicate and influence Congress.

Please take me back begs Omar Bakri

On this glorious January 1st 2007, the British tabloid The Sun prints that an Islamic hatemonger who left England in a huff is begging to get back to safety. Omar is definitely in the "wimp" category!

Here is the story...

Exiled Bakri in SOS plea

By DAVID WOODING

Whitehall Editor

January 1, 2007

EXILED [Islamofascist] preacher of hate Omar Bakri has begged the Royal Navy to rescue him from war-torn Beirut.

The Muslim cleric who fled Britain last year, tried to board a ship full of women and children yesterday but was turned away.

He also wrote to the British embassy asking to be allowed back on “humanitarian grounds”.

In an email to officials, dole scrounger Bakri pleaded: “The current situation in Beirut left me without any choice but to appeal to you to grant me a visit visa to see my children for one month.”

But his bid to sneak on one of our ships was blocked at harbour gates by sharp-eyed officials.

Bakri, 46, left his family in Edmonton, North London, last August and went to Lebanon after a Sun campaign to kick him out.

Charles Clarke, then Home Secretary, banned him from returning here.

The mad mullah, who hailed terrorists as “magnificent” martyrs, bought a £150,000 bolthole in the exclusive Doha district of Beirut.

In March he boasted: “When I left England I bought a one-way ticket out. I never want to see the place again.”

But cowardly Bakri changed his tune as soon as bombs started dropping.

He contacted the British embassy asking to be allowed back to see the six children he deserted. Bakri said last night: “What concerns me is my safety. I’d be happy with a month’s visa but this morning they told me I couldn’t because I’m not a British citizen any more.”

Shadow Immigration Minister Damian Green said last night: “This man has a cheek trying to come back to Britain after what he did here.”

A diplomat said: “He hasn’t spoken to any of our people. But he may have been turned away by security guards patrolling the port entrance.”

Anjem Choudary, Bakri’s right-hand man, said last night: “He plans to write to the British authorities and see if they will give him a visa for a passage out.”

Syrian Bakri can’t return there because he faces 20 years’ jail over a coup bid.

Over 20 years in the UK, Bakri sponged £300,000 in benefits. He preached violence and praised the 9/11 al-Qaeda terrorists as the Magnificent 19.

Bakri, dubbed the Tottenham Ayatollah, was a member of al-Muhajiroun, which he left to form al-Ghuraba.

Both have since been outlawed.

There is something familiar about this story. I think that I have posted it some time in the past, maybe as much as a year ago... I will have to try a search and see if that turns up anything.

The McCain primary calendar

Tue Dec 12, 2006 at 11:03:40 AM PST

The Republican primary calendar for 2008 is McCain's dream-come-true. You thought the Democrats front-loaded in 2004? Take a look at this calendar:

January 21: Iowa
January 28: New Hampshire
February 5: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, and West Virginia.

That's 15 16 states in the first two weeks of the race, including delegate-rich New Jersey, Florida, Missouri and Michigan, giving the guy with the most media buzz and money an advantage. At this early point of the race, that person is McCain.

Compare to the first few weeks of the Democratic primary calendar:

January 14: Iowa
January 19: Nevada
January 22: New Hampshire
January 29: South Carolina
February 5: Delaware, Missouri

Of course, states are still trying to move up their dates (like California), so both parties may be front-loaded by the end of 2007 (and the Republicans even more so than they are today). And a million things can and will happen between now and election day to change the dynamics of the race. But as of now, McCain has to be liking that calendar.

(You can see the full calendar here.)

Update: Added New Jersey to Feb. 5. Yet another state moving up to what is shaping up to be a GOP national primary day.

Comments:

This Republican primary is good for us

I think that it will lead to a McCain nomination, and I still think that McCain is a dreadful politician, and that he miscalculated with his call for MORE troops into Iraq. That is a no-starter for a vast majority of Americans, and it is my belief that by the time we finish with him (love that hug!!) 75% of Americans will see a vote for McCain to be a vote for continuing the insanity of GW Bush.

I can't believe how stupid he was calling for more troops.

by adigal on Tue Dec 12, 2006 at 11:26:28 AM PST

he's also old

He will be 72 in 2008, three years older than Reagan in 1980, and in worse health. After two consecutive Baby Boomer presidents, will Americans be able to "connect" with someone that old?

by Nathaniel Ament Stone on Tue Dec 12, 2006 at 11:27:42 AM PST

Thanks for pointing that out!

I hope McCain IS the GOP nominee. It cannot be repeated enough, he will be 72, 72, 72. And his health is an issue, as much as the media try to look the other way and film him only from his "good side". No one wants to "attack" the septuagenarian cancer survivor, but neither can his age nor his health be ignored!

The more they try to work the system

the more it shows that working the system is the only way they can win because their ideas just do not ring with the majority of the people.  Sad.

Isn't it nice to have good candidates to choose from instead of being told who the choice will be?  I think it is.

McCain's easy pickin's (0 / 0)

because half his own party doesn't like him and Democrats and independents don't trust him.  I would be very pleased if he were the nominee.  And his age works against him as well.

If McCain or one of the soft-on-illegals and soft-on-border-control RINOs are all that the GOP can offer us, a third-party candidacy focused on immigration should start NOW.

My Happy New Year message

HAPPY

NEW YEAR

2007

Here is a message I sent in email but applies to all my blog readers:

I hope you had a great Christmas and a happy new year.

We had all the grandkids over for Christmas. Lots of presents under the tree for them.

For New Years, my wife and I spent a quiet night at home. I lifted a shot of scotch in celebration at midnight.

Here's hoping that we can turn things around in the next two years.

Our party will have to start acting a little more Republican and a whole lot less big government, big spender. We are going to have to get back to being a law and order party and less of a "compassionate to criminals" and "compassionate to border jumpers" party. If you think your job can not be taken away by a low wage illegal alien or imported "guest worker" then you must own your business or be a US Senator. [Or maybe you own a US Senator or two?]

We need a credible new millenium "Contract With America" and real conservative leaders. The RINO examples from the senate show us what we do not need.

We will need to be the party that puts our people back to work, with restructured tax laws to allow business to prosper and create jobs, not the party that puts them out of work. Employers that favor illegal aliens and low wage imported "guest workers" over US workers are not creating jobs for US citizens. These employers encourage more law breakers to come here seeking "...jobs Americans wont do!" and are actually breaking current US laws themselves. Prosecute employers of illegals in the USA and encourage employers of US citizens. This is NOT protectionism. Illegal aliens have no citizen rights here and have only basic human rights until they commit any violent cime. The health and welfare systems of the USA are NOT a basic human rights for illegal aliens. They must return to their own countries for those services.

The USA is not the welfare safety net of the world.

We can encourage and help other countries to build their own systems but we can not provide interim blanket coverage.

Liberalism leaning into socialism is not what made us great. we need REAL CONSERVATIVE LEADERS.
